Friendly Quits

Just curious how everyone deals with friendly quits. My rule of thumb is although I dont like it if the game hasnt started yet I will give them the benefit of the doubt and accept. Or if I'm losing and they ask for one I will accept assuming they had something come up. But if I'm winning (which is rare) I wont accept. I'm not a very good player online so if I'm actually able to take a lead I'm not gonna give it away because someone dosent want to take a loss. I can actually say I've never asked for a friendly quit. Just wondering what everyone's take is on this. Happens almost every online game I play.

Don’t take them ever.

I’ll only accept them if they send it before we actually start playing. Once I start actually playing the game I’ll never accept it.

If you ask for friendly quit, theres 75% chance it gives you a 1st inning boost. Swear to god almost everytime someone asks they end up hittin a hr right after i decline.

Thats weird, my opponent typically gets given first base, after I hit them in the head with a fastball

This.
Also, FQs have no place in any competitive mode. Get them out of RS and Events, please.

FQs are fine up until the end of the 1st inning after that, they shouldn’t be an option. There are far worse things SDS needs to focus on fixing though atm.

Agree on both points, and yeah, I'd be fine with a FQ option that covers early game only. Otherwise, if they don't want to play they can take their L and move on.

That’s exactly how I deal with them too. The other scenario is a dude with a great record, 12-0 banner, or WS banner etc will offer a FQ as soon as the game starts. Most of the time I decline because I’m guessing he wants to give me an out because I’m only like 39-16; but sometimes I accept if I don’t feel like playing a sweat game.

I'll only take it if the game is tied and we've had equal at bats and I also feel like it's a slog and I may not win. Or if it's before the game starts. I recently had one where the guy offered the friendly after he batted in the first but I hadn't got the chance to hit yet, so no that's not happening. And then the last one I started the game with a single, home run, and then worked a work. And then he offered the friendly. No way.

Everyone is gonna be different on this because everyone has a different experience. I usually always get offered a FQ until I get up to closer to WS. Sometimes I will accept 2 or 3 in a row if I just don't want to deal with my opp pitcher or whatever, but eventually you have to decline them. Most of the time I just decline the first one and we play. But I would imagine there are a lot of guys out there that only get offered a FQ every now and then. Then I could see maybe accepting them more often.

Mostly agree with this, although I can say the ONLY reason I’ve ever sent one is because of a laggy connection. You obviously don’t know it’s laggy until you start playing.
