Is it possible to lay down a bunt and control where it goes instead of just left or right?

Or are all the bunt animations random? I have had a handful of guys drop the softest bunts right in front of home plate and I swear it has to be on purpose because it triggers this insanely slow drawn out animation and they are safe by a mile.

I get this a lot from people and it’s always the pitcher that goes for the ball instead of the catcher. It’s frustrating
