I think what has happened is there were too many good cards delivered, or made obtainable, that make any other card useless. A better balance in how content is released could help make the inning programs more worthwhile. I mean, honestly what cards could still be released that would replace players we already have access to? After the AS/HR cards outfield is set, INF set, catcher? Pitcher? Maybe Randy Johnson or Bonds, but not likely to happen.

You got millions of dollars to give to Randy Johnson, Mcgwire, Sosa, etc. to be in the game? Didn't think so.
I don't think sds is hurting for money. I would bet with the money they got just from day 1 of this new stub sale they could have acquired the rights no a new player.
The formula is simple, we buy the game every year regardless of any changes they make or font make. Therefore, copy and paste, don't waste money on programming, don't invest in research and development, don't worry about adding new players, don't worry about offline modes, don't respond the the community, don't wast time getting the game right before release, nope. Just copy, paste, sell, patch, repeat.
Like all gaming companies, the players aren’t their customers of concern. Sadly, it’s the shareholders, and it’s all about making money for them. EA, 2K, Ubisoft, doesn’t matter who it is.
It’s why so many games are copy/paste. The only modes that get any sort of attention are the ones with recurring player spending. Look at the profits these companies are making and you’ll see why the formula remains the same.

Griffey, Mantle, Mays, and Aaron will be significant upgrades in the outfield. Babe with a 1B secondary or Pujols, Gehrig, or Bellinger at 1st. 2nd and short we aren't going to get many better options but Honus Wagner, 99 Banks, 99 Tatis are all options. The best 3B was released at launch. Jimmie Foxx with a C secondary. For pitching we have Maddux, Pedro, Sale.

FS Crochet is essentially the Sig series Sale of years past, personally would have prefered if Nolan was a collection reward this year and have Glavine as a program boss.

Crochet is way easier to hit than Sale. Just because he is a lefty with the same pitches doesn't mean he is the same.

Ive used both, in my opinion they are essentially the same, Sales delivery may make him a bit more difficult to hit than Crochet but when you’re mixing pitches well with Crochet I would say he’s just as difficult.

I agree that more balance would be better, but SDS has very little incentive to save the best cards until later since this is about the time of year when the majority of the player base moves on anyway. Most people don't play the show for the entire year. It's not my preference, but I understand why they do it this way.

Seeing that it’s a no-hitter card, it might be worth using. Decent chance of 125 h/9 AND k/9. His previous 99s had 109 h//9 and 125 k/9.
-
I think you're under-selling what a beefy Nolan Ryan card can do in this game, especially with Pinpoint Pitching.
