Game is in a really good spot. Patience and methodical gameplay is rewarded over hyper-aggressiveness. Strategy is a big factor in winning. The only thing i'd want changed is the effectiveness of that darn sinker. High sinkers are too effective in game and they wouldn't be IRL
High sinkers is your single hangup. And your name isn't Ramone?
That's another thing the gatekeepers (gaslighters) like to do. They'll focus on some silly trivial thing in the game that is so-so low on the totem poll..relatively speaking. And they'll just write post after post about it. Pinpoint is over-powered, sinkers suck, etc. Which, perhaps they are, but that's not even scratching the surface of the obvious AI interference to control outcomes.
Meanwhile, irritated folks drop posts in here about the overly manipulative AI and resulting horror stories and these same posters come to the defense of "da game" and blame it all on the terrible player, the monitor, or the lag.
It's a farce and I believe the gaslighters don't realize anyone with 2 brain-cells to rub together see through the scam. Follow the tons of profile and watch them contradict themselves all the time.
They'll answer replies from themselves as if they are a different profile..completely forgetting which profile they are currently using. That's just amateurish gaslighting (utilizing the power of numbers) to not keep track of your profile or the character that profile is supposed to adhere to.
They'll post stuff to bait people into giving up info about themselves. It's fun just to watch and sometimes play back. In fact, it's a lot of fun.
And that's fine. Everyone gonna post what they wanna post. Free country.
I don't care either way about what you said, but please stop using the term gaslighting when you clearly don't know what it means.
Not that you know, because obviously you don't. Gaslighting is a pretty broad term.
Marketing built on deception and manipulation is gaslighting plain and simple. Just a couple examples of why it's extra relevent in this context.
The constant bullying of people out here that gripe about the phony AI controlled play. Especially when they lose, a whole army (one or two with multiple accounts representing SDS) will instantly start pointing out how it's the OP's fault - they suck, they aren't doing it right, blah-blah.
That's enuf..I got several, but that one single example is a classic sign of gaslighting. Don't say stupid stuff and folks won't have to shove it up your..
Incorrect, that's called manipulation.
Gaslighting, who's origins come from the 1944 film titled Gaslight, is when someone has a specific experience, but someone else (the gaslighter) tells that person that they had the opposite experience.
In the context of this game, and example would be:
John: I just made perfect contact on a ball and it ended up going foul
Gaslighter: No you didn't, you swung early and you didn't even hit the ball. It was a swinging strike.
John: No, I specifically remember making contact and getting the Perfect/Perfect indicator, as well as the sound the game provides when such contact is made.
Gaslighter: I was standing right here, I watched you swing and miss.
Gaslighting is an abusive form of manipulation, and people in these types of relationships eventually start to believe that what they saw or experienced was not reality. They slowly begin to think they are crazy, and even when they are no longer in the abusive relationship, they question their own ability to see and understand reality.
But go off son, I'm sure advertising a game differently than your experience is almost the same
Also, since you're quoting Merriam-Webster or whatever internet source because you're not sure either...here are a couple Wiki dot points that indicate "gaslighting":
• Withholding information from the target;
• Countering information to fit the abuser's perspective;
• Discounting information;Sound familiar? When you got the mods out here (dressed up like civilians..ha) that deny everything a complainer says about the game is actually the games fault. Classic Gaslighting.
TBH, I don't think I've experienced any forum argument that didn't involve at least some key aspects of Gaslighting.
lol, ok bud. While I'm a teacher, I do have a degree in clinical psychology as well (Family business, but not something I wanted to pursue).
And, if you knew anything about the field of psychology, you'd know that diagnosis and abuse terms come from the APA, not Merriam-Webster.
Keep digging a hole, or give up, I don't care, and I won't be back to check.
My point was simple, don't use these terms in such a loose and incorrect way. Between gaslight and Narcissist, the entire internet world thinks they are diagnostic experts these days.
Good luck bud.
Perhaps you are..perhaps you're gaslighting me. Claiming to be a teacher and having a degree in, whatever you said, in order to establish an environment that should put you as more of an authority. To give you credibility that allows your superiority to beat down and confuse the other guy.
When I'm the other guy..ain't happenin'. Not tootin' my own horn or anything..and I may not be an actual Wordsmith (pretty close to the Googled definition though)..I really have strived my whole life to use words/terms/etc. properly. If I miss..I'll admit it.
Yeah, sometimes they'll reference Gaslighting in the world of mental health, and sho' enuf it fits there as well. Works in politics too. Don't know how many times Trump was accused of gaslighting. For things very representative as what I've already mentioned.
So, if you admit you don't own a copyright on the meaning of the term gaslighting..I'll admit that I'm arguing with someone just for the sake of argument and pretty convinced we're both correct.
I didn't google anything bud, some of us have brains, read books, study, and retain information. If you had to google it it means 2 things. 1: You have no idea what the term means (duh, that's why I called you out). 2: If the definition was similar to mine, it means my brain did all of the above quite well, which is no surprise, anyone that passed Dr. Markley's Abnormal Psych class deserves a medal (it's been close to a decade since I finished my B.S. in Psychology).
As for your political reference, that is exactly what I'm talking about. People have taken psychology specific terms, with little understanding of the complex meaning, and thrown them around on social media, forums, etc.
It's exactly your reference to the misuse of the term in politics that my OP was about. Stop using terms you don't understand incorrectly. Gaslighting is a serious issue, one that causes a lifetime of emotional harm (typically for women, as men are the majority of humans that use such tactics), unless it's an actual example of said behavior. When you actually see it, please call it out. Otherwise, using it in reference to a baseball video game simply desensitizes the term, and makes victims of it seem less believable.
If this is too much for you, fine. But find another term. Manipulated by SDS, it gets the point across the same, but it doesn't damage the integrity of a serious behavior flaw.
Or, you could say: All of you guys who support the game, despite the manipulation you've experienced by SDS...etc. etc. etc.
You get the point. Do what you wish, it's your life after all
I'm not going to argue with you anymore. You know you've been looking all this stuff up. No one just knows this off the top of their head. To quote one of your many, obviously, stolen bits - "Gaslighting, who's origins come from the 1944 film titled Gaslight"
That line right there convinces me you've been stealing info off the internet. Who are you really? Are you a teacher or a 14 year old student. Hard to tell..TBH.
Jj..I don't care..just don't try to pass yourself off as something you're not. It's not flattering..and we'll leave it at that. I understand ppl have to find info, nothing wrong with that. But don't pretend it's coming out of your head. I know the difference.
lol, thanks for the compliment, truly. It's not that hard to imagine that someone who studied psychology would know where a term comes from. If you are honestly interested in learning more about this, there are some fantastic youtube channels out there. I recommend starting with Dr. Kirk Honda (We both graduated at Antioch University, a couple years apart). He's one of the best around, and he explains these things very well.
Look. Teacher's, for sure, don't plagiarize. Well, they are the ones that instruct the youth not to plagiarize. In fact, it was an instant fail in most of the college courses I took. Write a paper, don't cite your source..forget a good grade.
There is some pretty sophisticated software that mines and returns instances of plagiarism. They really don't like it in academia.
If you hadn't started plagiarizing (basically copying and pasting text and rearranging the words) and also claiming to be a teacher..I would have had no reason to question your "back-story". Or a degree in psychology, which also requires an extensive amount of cited research papers.
But, in light of your behavior I'm cranking the B$ meter up to 80% on your backstory. Can fool some of the ppl, but not 'ol IronEyes.
Not that you can't still be interesting and have some decent things to say, But be real dude. You don't have pretend to be someone you're not.
Still complimenting my intelligence I see, thank you, but if you keep this up, you're going to make my wife jealous.
Great, show me where I plagiarized, I'll wait!
I won't hold my breath though, that would kill me

The main reason, though, I don't believe your back-story is you keep rolling it out. You've been throwing this teacher claim out in other posts. Always with all these references that just scream catfish. Well, this professor and this professor and this university and this university.
Anyone that works so hard to substantiate a back-story (that no one really cares about) is typically guilty of catfishing. You actually write a whole lot like the guy out here that also claims to be an ex-baseball player. I believe you to be one and the same.
And nothing about your back-story, even if it was legit(which I believe it not to be) would make you some expert on any subject. No more or less intelligent than the next Joe on this forum. But, the fact you try so very hard to substantiate this character in order to gain credibility is exactly like the dude that uses the ex-baseball player to gain credibility. Both false.
You don't see many people out here dropping their life history in every other post. I've done a whole lot in my life that would likely give my posts a measure of relevant credibility, but I don't want to be construed as a lyin' catfish. Keep it to myself. It's bad enuf I'm judged by many as a negative Azzhole. Ha.
Gaslighting is a term, like many, that has been re-purposed to fit just about anything under the sun that deals with an attempt to fool someone with deception. Make them doubt themselves. It's not just some term that only should be used in the exact context of "abused women". But it often is. It's also been used by media outlets to describe politicians for decades.
So, you don't like my posts..wanted to argue. Went out and researched a term I used a couple times. that you likely had no understanding of in your 14-year old world Went out to some sites and came back with plagiarized re-arranged definitions that are ambiguous and narrowly described to fit into your argument-bag.
But, I will say, you are fun and not a bad diversion on a slow day.

• Withholding information from the target;
• Countering information to fit the abuser's perspective;
I won't hold my breath though, that would kill me
Only because you asked. Thought this argument was over, but now you reopened it. Good.

• Withholding information from the target;
• Countering information to fit the abuser's perspective;
I won't hold my breath though, that would kill me
Only because you asked. Thought this argument was over, but now you reopened it. Good.

Check your PM's boss.
Haha, that response says it all. I knew you were the ex-baseball player that likes to profess his history should make him an expert on a software game that often bast@rdizes the great sport of MLB
I literally sent you my bio, with the same last name as my user name. My bio says I have degrees on Psychology, teaching adjunct (part time), and my main job is in public education. Additionally, I'm at the exact same VERY SMALL private University I referenced earlier (in an attempt to get you to watch a youtube channel on this topic, so you may learn more about it). But sure, that's probably all a random coincidence and I'm a child
Sorry bud, you can't win them all?
In any event, as I first stated, please stop throwing around psychological diagnostic terms you don't understand. It's a pet peeve of mine, and it does cause harm.

Not like, for example, dissociative identity disorder which I would never use to describe folks with multiple profiles on public forums. If I did, doc, you would be more than deserving to jump on my misuse with both feet.

I won't hold my breath though, that would kill me
Only because you asked. Thought this argument was over, but now you reopened it. Good.

BTW, still not convinced. You sent me a link to an online college with a guy that, evidently, does online teaching. I believe the link is legit, but that's not necessarily you. Could be..could easily be proved if it was worth the effort of chasing it.
You know you started this whole pizzin' match by irresponsibly and incorrectly claiming I misused a term incorrectly.
But, for the 100th time..even if you were some "teacher" with a degree in Psychology..it just doesn't mean you're any more qualified to assess the proper way to use English anymore than, say, a Journalism or Communications major would be.
One thing you can't dispute. The term came from a movie...not..I repeat..NOT psycho world. The movie was a work of fiction. It depicted a behavior the eggheads decided to document and, ironically, gave it the same moniker as the title of the movie. Very strange because isn't the world of psychology supposed to be..whewww..quite serious? Throwing around a movie title to describe a serious "mental health" issue (your description) a bit flippant?
Further it's a stolen expression. Do you think MGM gave the eggheads and their voodoo science the rights to use their expression?
Didn't have to..it's open-source now. That's why anyone can use it to describe about anything. As long as it's relevant to "premeditated and ongoing deception/manipulation intended to make the target question their own beliefs of reality" it's used exactly, concisely, correctly and eloquently as intended. BTW, I just created that definition..you will find it nowhere else. And, I believe it to be accurate.

• Withholding information from the target;
• Countering information to fit the abuser's perspective;

I won't hold my breath though, that would kill me
Only because you asked. Thought this argument was over, but now you reopened it. Good.

You had a very different tone in private, why do you feel the need to talk this way in public? No one knows you, no need to feed an ego or appear "right".
Give me a call, we can assess further
Same tone I had in the PM I thought. I'm just skeptical of anyone that tries so very hard to prove they are someone..to some anonymous folks that really don't matter.
Most folks just say, "hey I'm a doctor..if you don't believe me too bad." I've never witnessed anyone try so very hard to prove an identity. Except catfish.
You may not be one. It's just if it walks and quacks like a duck it is.
But, if you're the real deal teacher with the great credentials..very awesome and I'm rude, crude, and tattooed for even questioning you. You get my most heartfelt apology.
But, again, just doesn't feel quite right.
