The split fingered fastball is my favorite pitch in real life and in video games. So the fact that this pitch is borderline unusable in pinpoint really grinds my gears (keeping it pg here...). Now I play on xbox, so I'm not sure if it's an issue with the Xbox controller's right stick performing the splitter pitch motion (and yes I have used multiple controllers to test this theory) or if this is an issue with ps5 users as well but the motion should be changed. Maybe copy the screwball's motion for the splitter instead. Something. P.S- no I don't need to "git gud kid" or anything like that. I can 100% every other pitch in the game including the circle change.

Isn't the splitter an off-speed pitch?

Its technically a fastball. But of course so is a Cut fastball but Ohtani's is like 83. So, its whatever. Certain players have different variants of some pitches.

But to the OP's point, I do not find them unusable. They work just fine. Yes they are hard to 100% but in real life they are too.

Maybe it's the controller but just practice some more. I can do every other pitch 100% but the motion and timing of the splitter/fork circling back on itself is tougher than the rest. I'm not a fan of thr "git gud" posts but that really is the only solution here, practice it more.

It comes down to practice, really that’s all there is too it. Probably the most tedious pitch on PP but it is doable. It’s not an Xbox controller issue. I can hit perfect a few times a game but certainly not as regular as other pitches.

I started using pitchers with it in multiple games just to get used to it.

It's the one pitch I have the hardest time on. Not sure if it's controller or what...because this happens on other pitches as well. Halfway through all of a sudden it will go red and then I can't finish the pitch. It happens most on Splitters. I can never get timing on it as well. (I'm ps4)

Are you using a Series S or X controller, or an Xbox One controller. Supposedly it is only an issues for the new Series controllers.

The new series X controllers have some sort of glitch in them to stops the motion on very early right when you cross the 12:00 spot at the top.

Try out hard-wiring the xbox one controller.

I am playing on One X. The only “controller” issue I’ve come across is when batting, I hit A to swing and he checks. I don’t mean to check on those ones. But it’s only happened a handful of times.

Im on ps4 and have the same issue when going past the 12 spot. That is usually when it will go red on my and then takes away the ability for me to finish the "draw".

I, also, have issue with the bottom left of my batting box. My PCI goes crazy, won't stay in one spot.

If you're playing on a One X, then I assume you are not using a Series S or X controller. It is a controller issue for those that have newer controllers. I can throw splitters and forkballs on my PS5 using pinpoint just fine. Doesn't work correctly on the Series S, although using an older controller on that console supposedly fixes the issue. I don't have an older controller to try it myself, and I don't use the Series S often enough to care. It's mostly my travel console, so I just use meter when I'm on that.

I’m using the Elite Series 2 controller. I know it was made with new generation in mind but also works on older consoles so I am not sure if it would be classified as a “new controller.”

Go faster on the reverse part of the umbrella. I was always doing the same speed as the forward arc, but it's actually sped up on the reverse.
