Guardians doesn't offend me. It probably offends less people than the former name. Is it the best possible team name? No. But a lot of MLB team names are already sort of bad so its all fine by me.

Similar thing happened in Canada where the CFL team from Edmonton changed the name from Eskimos to Elks.
With the amount of animal team names, I am sure PETA is getting their Twitter people ready.
