Next Big Collection?

since the calendar goes to the 20th which is a Tuesday i am thinking either the 23rd or 30th, which are both Fridays. usually it comes out around there.
Usually??? Not sure that usually is the appropriate word here seeings that there has never been multiple 99 collections until this year. Last year we got the Mayes collection in early August. That’s if they are even planning another big collection. And no they haven’t eluded to another collection, you’re just assuming there will be another.

I feel a little bad for the people who sold me all their rare and limited supply cards when they dipped a few days ago. they will be paying 3-4 times as much for them as they sold them to me for. Thank you XBOX first year players.
You know what would be hilarious, if they didn’t release another big collection and you got stuck with basically worthless cards that you would have to sell at a significant loss. That might fix your smug arrogance.

Do you guys think there’s any need to have every card for a later collection? I really don’t feel like trying to buy the Schmidt, Sandberg, Frazier, etc.
I bought those guys because they will be 1 million stubs or close to after the big collection drops. Thats my stub stash for now, that and like i mentioned earlier Reggie Jacksons BR card.
This is not true. Just because we saw million stub cards last year does not mean we will see million stub cards this year. Hundred thousand some two hundred thousand cards but million stub cards won’t happen because of what they’ve done to make rare cards more attainable this year.

I think it will be Aaron, and it will be tough. You will need Jackie, Rivera, Acuna, Ohtani, and Chipper.

No not every. I do have most thanks to the crash last week. Definitely will need guys like Acuna, POTM Lightning, Ohtani, etc.
Keep in mind though that the sets that have guys like Schmidt will be super inflated come collection time because not everyone will afford a $500k+ card meaning more demand for the other cards.
How are you liking your boy Ohtani?

I agree to a point. But there are a few cards out there that were locked in early and if you check the market there are not many for sale. I think there will be much much fewer and definitely won’t happen until many quit playing for Madden and 2k and reduce the inventory.

That would be hilarious because the backlash from the community would be through the roof. Thankfully I always make sure and invest in rare cards who's value is in the scarcity. See even if no collection comes out people will pay a ton for the BR cards I invest in. It's gonna take more than that to fix my smug arrogance. Maybe SDS gives away BR cards in packs. Yep that might do it. Good luck buying your cards back.

they confirmed that there will be atleast 2 "big collections" like Mo. So yes there will be at least one more and it Usually comes out in late july like the past 2 years.

SDS has made the rare cards more attainable this year but very few people are willing to win 50 RS games or get 100 pts in BR. Furthermore even if they do, People are not going to use their BR or WS packs on older cards. They buy the newest or most expensive cards. Next understand that SDS has made it super easy to make stubs this year they have given away millions and millions via free packs and also with crazy upgrades from golds to diamonds and such. This causes two things to happen. First there is an overwhelming supply in live series cards and those values have plummeted. Second the cards who have less circulation will now be sold for even more stubs because more people have more $ and are willing to spend more for rare cards. I know that some argue that supply in rare cards is going to be much higher this year however "Mike Schmidt" is a perfect example of what's going to happen in the next few months to the BR cards. Now your statement of we will not see 1m cards is partially correct because diamonds that are 95 and below have a max sell of 700k ( I know this because I have listed several of my rares for 700k in the market). Cards 96 and above can go to 1m. SO yes we won't have all 1m cards for rares many of them will cap at 700k. You used the example of million stub cards last year and that likely it won't happen again. What you forgot to do was look at what has happened for the past 5 or so years. Guess what there are always cards that hit the max cap. Was Harper and Bagwell when the cap was 500k when the cap went to 1m then cards eventually made their way to 1m. It has happened every year and this year probably wont be different. I suggest finding cards to invest in now so you can make some $ back to buy what you sold. That would be a better use of your time than making posts without evidence to support your claims.

Believe what you want brother, I’m just saying that it’s not likely. Last year was an anomaly due to the pandemic and people having much more time on their hands. They over saturated the market with stubs and we ended up with a thing called inflation. We do not have this nearly as much this year. That’s not to say making stubs isn’t easy there are just fewer pathways than last year. Just saying. Not trying to troll just making an observation.

What do you call Ohtani!!! By my recollection that’s a collection and it’s not nearly as easy to obtain as Rivera, unless you’re willing to dump a million plus stubs on garbage HRD cards and the 2021 All Star standouts. There will be far less people running around with Ohtani than Rivera. Either way those are two big collections as you would like to put it. Now I’m not saying that there won’t be another one I just don’t think you should be banking you’re future on conjecture at this point.

Ohtani is the Equivalent to HRD griffey from last year. Also on the stream that revealed Rivera it literally said more legends and flashback collections confirmed

Pre COVID years have also resulted in cards going to the max cap. COVID only increased the amount of players who played and thus created lines for cards such as Chipper and Wagner. We have had lines before so this is nothing new. Now with Xbox players we have significantly increased the player base and we will once again see lines for cards just not as bad due to situations where someone can win 50 rs games or 100 BR points for the one card that they want. What won't happen is other BR cards will not have an increased supply because people won't be getting Garrett Anderson in their BR packs so his card is no longer available and we won't be getting more of him (unless SDS opens him back up in BR packs). So now you don't have to pay 1m for this years Chipper you can earn him. So what will you spend your 1m stubbs on? Bingo another rare card. Ergo super high prices cards.

This is where I agree with you but not for the same reasons. More people will have Rivera than Ohtani because Rivera is now easier to get as you can buy a ton of QS Space Pack cards and people will be able to pick up Rivera on the way to getting the next "Big" collection. You are correct Ohtani is expensive. Now where I think you are becoming a troll (you are telling this poster that he should not base his future on conjecture). The advice you are giving him is exactly what you are doing. You are not taking the evidence that has been presented and you are choosing to believe something else with little evidence that supports your claims. There is no past history that supports your beliefs and there is nothing coming from SDS that confirms your assumptions. The safe route is to collect every card and to flip / invest to make enough stubs to do so.

Whatever the new collection is, do you think that cards used for a big collection already will be used again? For example, the HRD cards used to get Otani or any of the TA3 cards?

Ohtani might be part of the next big collection. You would probably get a voucher for collecting him.
