Wow this is difficult...

The problem is that pitchers are consistently dotting pitches consistently on Veteran and Rookie. They are definitely messing with sliders and making it look like you’re playing on a lower difficulty. It’s a scam to steal your stubs, so they’ll never comment on their scummy practices.

Lmfaoo this comment had me rolling, how's the tinfoil feeling?
The last showdown is on all star and bc of their brilliant idea that every level and offline vs online should ALL have diff pitch speeds it fucks with you -
The difficulty seemed perfect during the prerelease. All of a sudden rookie is hard. WTF is the point of having difficulty levels if you’re gonna make rookie this hard. I’m not a great player but I’ve been playing this game for a long time and never struggled on rookie. This isn’t fun.

I’ve found showdowns to be in a nice sweet spot for me. Challenging, but not too challenging. If you’re willing to take walks and sit on meatballs, it’s quite doable.
-
I finally beat it today, took me a few tries but got it with one out left and back to back homer’s from trout and muncy.
-
I forgot all about guess pitch. I should turn it on.
-
I just take every pitch until I have 2 strikes, get a lot of walks and runs that way
-
I don’t get why they just don’t have the showdown modes on different difficulty levels and reward the stars according to that difficulty.
For example
Legend: 100 stars
HOF: 75 stars
All Star: 50 stars
Veteran: 25 stars
Rookie: 10 starsThis way you don’t have to adjust to difficulty levels and everyone can compete based on their difficulty level and feel as if they have a chance at some rewards
-
Hang in there man. I expect SDS to lower the sliders in the next 7-10 days

This is the way.
Take pitches. Hit meatballs.

Reduce amounts by 50% and I'd say its fair.

I stopped trying after my fifth fail. I did MTO and it’s actually way better. More time consuming but you get 50 points. Took me a couple of days to win the World Series

Yeah I quit Showdown in favor of doing MTO.

The last showdown is on all star and bc of their brilliant idea that every level and offline vs online should ALL have diff pitch speeds it fucks with youI've finished plenty of the Showdowns and I'm sorry, but you can't convince me that even on All-Star, the CPU can dot pitches on the black consistently and a majority of squared up PCI swings are Good/Ok. Either it is deceptive practices to get you to spend stubs or the game mechanics are broken. Neither are acceptable. You can say I wear a tonfoil hat, but perhaps you should open your eyes and stop being a sheep.

I love when people bring back old threads. I then see if I remember when that was posted. -
lol I miss the OG TSN20 profanity "filter"

Showdown (aside from the Starter Showdown) is still difficult. All of them. The Starter one is the only one I've ever been able to complete - twice!!
I wonder if the OP ever got any other ones completed...
I'll try one every now and then and I quickly realize how much I hate them and how much I super-suck and just go back to Rookie/Veteran Conquests - my comfort zone.

I have only been able to beat the "Starter" showdown, which didn't seem that hard. For the 1st Inning Showdown, is it really this hard for everybody? It seems impossible. I have failed/gotten kicked out of the Showdown about 15 or so times now, no exaggeration.
I can't hit for anything. Pitched I guess perfectly and have the PCI indicator show up, I'm still so late on those that they are a foul to the opposite side every time. How can I be so late on pitches when I guessed them and knew they were coming? Why is it so hard to hit the ball?
Did something change for physics of the hitting or something? I've seen a lot of people complaining, but I have no idea if it was a 'patch' thing causing this, because it was impossible for me on 3/13 and it's impossible for me today 3/22.
Are you playing on a TV or a Monitor. Bet its the FPS. I had to ditch my LG because of it. Massive difference with a monitor or TV that has a solid "game" mode
