Never thought I’d see Jeter and power in the same sentence
-
Jeter won an MVP?
-
Jeter was a great hitter, but for the entirety of his career, by every advanced fielding metric, he was a below average fielder. Not even average — he was actually a liability with his glove. Garciaparra was better. J.J. Hardy was much better. Jeter hit his way to the Hall Of Fame, but it had zero to do with his defense.
-
Honestly I just want the card so everyone wishing he isn’t going to be good goes insane. They are NEVER paying Jeter money to make it an average card, they will make him the best SS in the game.
-
You think Jeter would sign on having anything lower than gold defense? Cmon Kardashian pleases
-
Never forget jeter wasn’t the best shortstop on his team and was arguably the 4th best in his division the majority of his career
-
Why is this topic called an 'Elephant in the room?'
It's more like 'Harambe in the hallway,' or something -

So true. A-Rod was the best SS ever until he was made to play third.

@lazy_toast_PSN
I do not see that which is why I dont think he will be in the game. Maybe they offer him a Postseason card with boosted power but the highest defense they can go is a silver badge on the field. It can show hold defense on the card for the combination of stats but the fielding itself has to be silver at best -

We all know the biggest issue this game faces is the fact all 2nd basemen and shortstops have Derek Jeter power and accuracy behind their arms when moving the opposite direction from and throwing to 1st base lol
Thousands upon thousands of hits stolen on what should be a rare play. And speaking of Jeter, when we gonna get an All-Star or Prime or MVP Jeter card??
Derek Jeter never won an MVP because he was never good enough to. So you won't ever see an MVP card of him.
-
Jeter played the game right, Seem he was clutched on defense when He needed to be, He was clutch in hitting, He pretty much stayed healthy, Is he overrated yes I think so. Was he great yes. He had a HOF career.

He did finish top 3 three times in his career.

I've been arguing this from the beginning a cards DEFENSIVE stats mean JACK SHEET~! ZIP ZILCH ZEROOOO! I got bronze fielders that play better than diamond ones. HA
-
I hope Jeter gets a card. It will be nice to always have a better shortstop than the people that choose to use Jeter.

So has Jose Ramirez, so that isn't much of an argument for Jeter

not making an argument just stating.

I'm sure Prime and Sig Jeter would have good defensive attributes despite what the metrics say. Offensively I'd expect a faster Robin Yount with more power. He would be a juiced version of himself just like many other Legend cards in this game. FWIW he led the team in WAR during the 96-00 years when they won 4 World Series.

Faster maybe sure. But there is no reason to believe Jeter would have more power than Yount. Only 9 more career HR's for Jeter while Yount has more doubles, triples, a higher slugging%, and ISO. Jeter had 300 more AB

Edit: Jeter had 10 points higher slugging. Either way I would believe them to be similar in power
