This game on HOF is freaking miserably boring.. it is literally whoever can get the lucky homerun.. 1 run game with 6 hits between the two parties!! I thought I liked pinpoint pitching but with the velocity of the pitches and pitchers 99 control it’s just too much and too hard to hit!! It’s like unless you are a absolute savage at this game then good luck.. and I’m like 41–11 before anyone says git gud lol..
-
You don't even need a pitcher with great control to pitch really well which is the real issue. I've used Bob Feller a lot, who has low BB/9 and control ratings and his stuff is nothing special at this point. I think my K/BB numbers with him are about 136 Ks and 1 BB. I fully support hitting being hard on the upper difficulties but if double digit K games are going to be common then 5+ walk games should be common too
-
Yeah I agree.. hitting should be not easy but it’s like these pitcher cards overpower the elite hitting cards like chipper… I’ll work a count to 2-0 then my opponent will paint the black with 2 98mph sinkers and then he will throw something over the plate and I’ll have decent timing and foul it off and then strike out on a 97mph cutter that starts over the plate and breaks a foot to nic the black for a backward K…. It’s tough no doubt lol
-
I wish they didn't add pinpoint especialy with all the new Xbox players.
-
Pinpoint was the death of the average player this year.
-
Every pitcher using that spider Tack on HOF with pinpoint pitching .
-
Yeah agree, Pitching needs to get nerfed or hitting buffed, on the higher difficulties. I pitched a 27k perfect game the other day. With a Gold card. Felt bad for the kid, he stuck it out all the way through.
-
Got to give the kid credit for sticking it out

The more likely scenario is your internet is trash and the kid was trying to hit warping fastballs. See it all the time with laggy [censored] people.

Let me guess he was playing on the west coast too just because he had dodger uniforms on?

Yeah I’d say I’m an above average player and I’m struggling this season.. I hit WS last season and I’m struggling to stay above CS

Pinpoint pitching is over hyped. Believe the game masters are trying to chase every one in that direction by suggesting it's overpowered. Perhaps it is, but if in fact it is...why let it out of the door?
Unless the intention is to force everyone on board in order to be "competitive". Could be the same marketing push used to get everyone to jump on Zone over Directional. Which, I'm fairly convinced, doesn't make a whole lot of difference. I know..I know..most won't agree with that but I believe it.
The truth is, the more overhead and layers that can put in place for the player to go through, the easier it is to inject variables to explain the anomalies in the game. Pinpoint Pitching requires at least somewhat more focus and "steps" than meter. Higher margin of error, easier to make excuses for it and blame the player.
If we all had to use the controller standing on our head, with the temperature set to 73 degrees, and kicking our feet in rhythm to "The Saints Come Marching in" and we got frustrated for some lack of realism. The answer would be you had the temp set to 74, or you weren't keeping rhythm perfectly . It's not a problem with the game.
Just a theory, but it's been supported in the gaming world since Luigi was rescuing Princess's.

No he was just a below average player actually lol. It was in a custom league on legend difficulty. He had the marlins, I had the Phillies pitching zach wheeler pre-diamond status.
That still doesn't take away from how difficult hitting is on legend.

Yeah either all that, or nobody has ever been able to pitch as good as you can with pinpoint and it’s extremely easy to do so.
If tomorrow they add a even better hitting system then zone, that is multiple times easier it would be the exact same issue. Average pitching would become terrible, the same way and average hitter has become much much worse with the extreme ease to pick corners with mediocre pitching and mediocre input. Nothing competitive about it, one of the systems in the game right along side perfect throws in the outfield with throw accuracy turned on.
