XP Path idea

I've seen a lot of posts this year from people who miss the XP path because they hit 650k fairly early and feel like there isn't enough to play for. On one hand I understand why they got rid of it because people were using exploits to earn some of the best cards in the game long before the developers intended, but on the other hand I kinda miss the XP path too so I came up with a compromise.
My proposal is that the XP be implemented in next year's game, but with one modification: a cap on the amount of XP that could be earned in an inning. The cap would maybe be something like a million XP, and when you hit it there would be a choice pack with three cards that had similar or maybe slightly better attributes than the inning's bosses.
