He’s been fine in the field this year, 0 DRS with how great his bat is is more than enough.

Dude they've really hammered on him. Next thing is next update they'll downgrade him to a silver. Holy [censored].

Can't say I understand how they dropped Kris Bryant when he's still vying for MVP. Went a little dry the first 2 weeks of June, but he's still got much better offensive numbers than several of the diamonds. They downgraded him in offense, not defense, Probably just best leave him alone at worst. But dropping his numbers are dumb. His numbers are significantly better than at anytime last year, but they downgraded his hitting from the beginning of the season. Some of their adjustments are just of the coin-flip variety I don't think they even weight numbers/trends, etc.
Maybe he spent some time with the raters special lady friend. Little payback. I dunno.

Was it against righties, because correct me if I'm wrong, but he wasn't crushing righties even when he was playing at an MVP level
.204 against righties currently.

How tf did Trea Turner go down? He's having a great year and he has been on fire lately

i should have kept my investments from 2 weeks ago, oh well

I had 315 Devers hoping he'd go diamond but I gave up and quick sold them all to complete collections.

No, he's not batting .204 against righties.
He's batting .242 against right-handed pitchers. He's batting .382 against lefties. He's got 14 HR..7 against right..7 against left.
TatisJr. is batting only .213 against Lefties and only 4 hr's. Yet they didn't touch him in those categories. Left him at 69/88.
Bryant, again hitting for a much better average and almost twice the HR against righties was LOWERED to 65/66.
Made sure they raised Tatis against Righties 10 pts though in both power and contact.
Tatis hit .353 in May. He's dropped over 100 pts off his total BA in June to .247. Why would he get any bump..regardless of right/left split?
I mean when/where/how/date-range/etc. do they come up with this stuff? Don't they know that any person out here can also look at MLB stats and scratch their head at the decisions they make?
It's not like their awesome code that only they know the trade-secrets to. We can all look at the stats and some of us know stats pretty well.
Just these 2 instances, albeit a small sample set, indicates they throw darts in these instances. I'm sure they have some algorithm they use, but it's probably as hidden and silly as they one that power DD game results.
Transparency is not one of SDS strong points.

Woops, you are right on the batting average, for some reason I mistook home vs R and generally vs righties on fangraphs.

They manipulate ratings how they see fit. Today Acuna got a major hit to his already low vision just bc they dont want him to be 95 or higher. They've done this for years and we should all accept that they do this BS but its still frustrating

- Tatis is the cover boy this year, so he’s going to stay highly rated no matter what.
- I don’t think they care that you can look at stats too. Sure, you can scratch your head at some of their ratings, but it’s still their game to adjust as they see fit.
I’m not saying they’re right or wrong, just saying that you being able to look at the same stats doesn’t mean [censored] to them.

Because tatis is cover boy. I think it’s absurd they keep raising him every chance they get.

0 DRS saved at third is not very good. That’s like saying -10 DRS SS. His defensive metrics are near the bottom in almost all categories. That is absolutely the reason he hasn’t gone diamond yet. Now if he was ahead in the offensive triple crown I would be wondering the same thing but he strikes out a ton and his batting average last time I looked was in the .260’s. That’s not Diamond performer when stacked up against others who are diamonds.

It doesn't bother me so much as I just want to understand why? I've been playing with sports stats my whole life, and they've always made sense. When something doesn't make sense, it just brings out the "Why is that".
I know Bryant getting dropped in ratings will, very likely, not be reflected in the game anyway. I mean, I'm using 99 Wander Franco and he's batting below the Mendoza...John Lester is batting .250 with a couple HR's. I just would like to know where they come up with this stuff. I know I never will. But, it doesn't hurt to ask.
