Need Help on this Head Scratcher...

I made an amazing comeback in a RS game to tie it in the 9th.
Johnny Damon hit in the pitcher spot, and I had bullpen up.
Start of the 10th and Teperra wasn't ready, so I go with mound visit, and try to bring him in. Damon hasn't thrown a pitch. On the bullpen screen I get the "You have a position player on the mound" message (Duh!)
It doesn't let me make the change and Damon gives up a slam to Bichette.Not complaining because it was the most fun game I've played this year, but shouldn't I have been able to make the change?
I hate the 3 batter rule even more now. Haha! -
It's because you did a mound visit. He was legally in MLBs eyes the pitcher at that point, even without a pitch

You can't let him go out to the mound it counts as an appearance unfortunately I've made this mistake multiple times trying to be slick haha

I never have used mound visit as never seemed the need too. And after reading this I will never touch it now! Haha
