Played 3 event games: Boston, Chicago and St. Louis. Boston and Chicago were super laggy as expected. Not really sure how I constantly get matched with the worst internet in the U.S. Always matched against east coast, west coast and Chicago for some [censored] reason. Guess that is why I feel like I am swinging underwater almost every game.
How do you know their location outside of team name?
You don't. But it's really a safe assumption that if someone has a city or team in their team name, that they are at least semi close to that area. Example I don't think anyone that lives in LA is really putting Cleveland in their team name
-
Yeah I see a lot of KC people in RS

I live 2 hours from LA and I have the Rockies name and unis. Also Chicago, Boston, and St. Louis are major big market teams in baseball so it is actually not a safe assumption at all. People move and follow their hometown but live across the country. Or they are just generic Boston/New York fans.
Also Cubs fans are overpowering at a lot of stadiums across the country. You think they just traveled for the game? There is fans of all teams everywhere especially big market teams
-
I also know a few people in LA who relocated from Cleveland and are Indians fans lol. Y’all need to get out more

So yes it tries to match as close as possible in location, but team name means nothing. It is just the fact that most people chose team names for the areas they are in because they are fans of said location. But I usually have a team called the North Pole Polar Bears I use for a few weeks a year, but make no mistake I am not there. Nor do I get matched up with folks near there.

That’s why people don’t take your posts seriously. It’s all assumptions

Yea I live in FL and get cities from FL constantly
I live in FL and this year I keep getting matched up with NY/NJ...
-
I use Newfoundland & Labrador, because fun.
I am NOT local to Eastern Canada, though.
-
I live in Los Angeles but spend most of the summer in Atlanta. In LA, I usually get matched with Dodgers or Angels fans, and during the summer, I usually get matched with Braves fans...or college themed teams such as Alabama or Vandy.

I live in the east and I feel the same when I match against people from KC and STL too. The wider the range in your search bar the more you get exposed to matchup against us

I honestly can’t believe so many of you can’t wrap your head around that there are fans from different teams in every location and what team they are repping in this game has no reflection of where they’re located.
Now if you get random small cities, that’s a much better assumption. But because they are repping a major league team doesn’t mean anything.
