Buy him now, use him through your run, earn your own, and then sell the duplicate.
Or buy him now, use him for the day, then sell when you’re done for the night. You’re not going to lose much stubs this way and might even make a decent profit.

I don’t play ranked, so can’t help you, but also if a card came out I really wanted, I wouldn’t ask people to get better to get it for me. Either you get better or pony up
