Pitchers use this across the board above h.s. level. Been happening for decades in one foreign substance or another.

I can't stand pitchers in general. They all [censored] and moan everytime a batter tries to gain an edge, but when they do it, "there are things passed from one generation to another"
Also pitchers cry like babies about batflips or staring down a homer. But fist pump and "let's [censored] go" or do some over the top spin off the mound everytime they do something good.

Don't they have one. There's a little black tub of something, I've never read what it is, but I've always assumed it was tack.

It shouldn't be a ritual, it should be a glove. It can be a Gerrit Cole or Bauer glove, kinda like the Nike Trouts cleats. +99 control, +99 break, and K/9 should be +99 too.

There is no denying that MLB should have been enforcing the "no foreign substances" rule more closely, and that they should have been looking into this years ago when the rumblings first emerged about new variants to add RPM. That being said, I don't get the pitcher reactions. They've been getting away with murder for years, and now they're whining because if they get caught they get a 10 day paid vacation? Most of them have already made their millions by cheating the system, and you know sure as [censored] they won't be giving any back as their performance comes back down to Earth.
Maybe this is a hot take, but suck it up buttercup. I don't think it should matter that the penalty has changed during the season. They weren't supposed to be doing it to begin with, and now there are consequences. They're super weak consequences and barely a slap on the wrist, which makes the complaints about it even worse. Maybe if pitchers didn't take it too far in the quest greater RPM they could still use something for a better grip while MLB looked the other way. They have no one to blame but themselves.

Absolutely nothing changed during the season, this has been the rule and penalty long standing.

Players brazenly ignored the league and their warning now they are crying. There is absolutely nothing new about this and the MLB have explicit warning to stop this off season.
