Semien officially AL POTM

Can't seem to find who won in NL...
Being rated an 82, it makes a lot of sense to get the lightning card now that he is officially POTM.

I’m down with it. He can play multiple infield positions as well. I’m kind of hoping he is the lightning card.

He'd be great, but.......what about Fernando Tatis Jr? Normally, he wouldn't get a top card this early, but......with him being hurt, seems like SDS could take a opportunity to release a 95 or 96 version of him. His May stats are certainly worthy of it, and they may not get another chance for a few months if his injury keeps him out a while....

Ya his stats are crazy but he played in half the games.... Meaning he didn't help his team at all half the time. I think that disqualifies him.

Generally they do not give the 90+ guys a POTM card, there are some exceptions to that rule but for the most part it's guys who play well above their in game rating.
Tatis got his 99 POTM last year but was a gold card when he did so it made sense at the time as he was playing well above his in game rating.
Semien is the perfect fit for a POTM arts as he likely wouldn't get a higher rated card all year besides maybe a postseason card if the Jays got that far.
Tatis will be a 99 at some point most like Finest if he keeps up what's he's been doing to this point

Semien gets the lightning card. Tatis doesn't get a lightning card unless it's a 99, which this will not be. If Semien doesn't get the lightning card it will be whatever NL pitcher wins the real life award(no disrespect to Rich hill but no one is doing the collection for him)

Agreed. Acuna and Trout are obviously the perfect examples, But IF he is truly injured (I hope not), SDS could certainly take an opportunity to pump some serious excitement into the POTM for May.....Semien is nice too....but if your trying to keep people playing and sell the game and stubs, getting local cover boy a super card earlier would be an interesting proposition
