from fun to boring

The most fun part of this game was the beginning. When I was playing with a combination of bronze, silver, and gold. No diamonds. This put me in Conquest games that I had to struggle with a little to win.
More importantly it put me in RS games where my lineup and my opponent's were completely different. We weren't both sitting there with the latest-greatest 99 pitcher and the rest of our lineups a near duplicate. It was fun to win/lose with different players than your opponent.
If you've played this game a couple months your stacked with the best diamonds and so is everyone else you'll play.
As much as FIFA and Madden put emphasis on loot-box rewards at least I rarely had the same lineups as my opponent. This was even at year's end after 6 months of playing.
I'm not necessarily complaining, but it sure would be cool if DD backed off a little bit on all this instant and easy gratification from promotions. I just pulled a diamond Corey Seager and it was like..yawn. That should never be. At least not in the first third of baseball season.

There’s no boring games just boring people
-
I couldn’t put my controller down last night grinding for TA...
-
Nothing more exiting than both teams starting Burnett. Late in the game both teams start a revolving door of the same 'ol closers..Bader, Mariano, Chapman. Both nearly duplicate lineups with contact and power plus 80.
I played 10 RS games in a row where my opponent had Buxton as lead-off. 15 of 17 were the same. I, intentionally, never finished April because I didn't have any interest in having Buxton in my lineup like everyone else did.
A player like Diamond 95 Buxton should be almost impossible to acquire. Someone you don't even smell until July or later. It's like earning Messi the first month of FIFA season. That would never happen.
I dunno, whatever..you guys have fun.

Have you tried playing with a non stacked team? I play with mostly golds and low sdiamojds grinding all the team affinity in rs, and I very rarely play “god squads.” You still have to play buxton and burned every game. But, not the other guys.

Actually thought about just stacking my favorite players on a team. I might only average 85 up and down the lineup, but at least it would be my individual team and, likely..ha, would never see anyone else with it. Probably get spanked quite regularly, but that happens anyway.

You’d be surprised. Sometimes people don’t know how to pitch to certain cards that they don’t see. Also, I swear you will get better pitches because your player is gold
Go for it. This is all I’ve done all year and it has been a lot of fun.

I always thought they should push diamonds back to 90+, make them TRULY diamonds and more rare. Now everything is a diamond and really dilutes the impact of getting diamonds. Diamonds should all be $50K plus stubs and you should really feel the impact of getting one on the team

I agree with everything you just said. Existing diamonds could range from 87-94. And still not just be casually given out like popcorn at the corner tavern.
Maybe create a new, nearly unattainable, card that covers the 95-100 range. Call it Double Diamond. Only through some sort of hundred-hour season-cumulative grind..which would also involve sacrificing existing diamonds in your stash would you even get close to them. But do make them a potential pull in the right sort of pack.
Or throw the whole diamond concept out the window. It's not a precious metal anyway. Add palladium and rhodium in above gold. Rhodium then, essentially, would be the double-diamond I just mentioned.
Would have to rechristen the online play Rhodium Dynasty. Maybe Rhodium Regime? I dunno.

If im playing online, i dont even pay attention to the other team because im focused on my goals and what im trying to get done. Ive never given up a homerun and thought to myself "Ortiz again? Jesus....why couldnt that have been Michael Conforto?" I've never struck anyone out and said "Sorry Chipper....it would be cooler if you were Randy Arozerana instead..."
-
You could still play with those bronzes silvers and golds. 100% up to you.

I actually just made a secondary account and it’s the most fun I’ve had all year on ranked. I don’t take it as seriously and use cards I would never put on my god squad.
I’m still using good card like the low diamonds that came out in TA2, and the low diamonds in the POM. Just using cards I enjoy not just the best.
Highly recommend it! Also the new Chuck Nasty is killer.

They basically did this already with immortals minus them being pullable and we saw how that went. People hated the long grinds and everything changed to more of what we have now.
