Like said above, custom practice on legend vs Nolan Ryan or similar.

The other part of this is approach. Obviously if your opponent exposes your inability to hit fastballs, you will see tons on them. That being said, picking up your opponent’s tendencies helps a lot.

Lots of players online will just spam balls until you don’t swing at them. Swinging at fastballs (sinkers or cutters more likely) in hitter’s count is better than chasing high fastball LS early, if you are having trouble with them.

So, what do you think is going on when I have my focus trained on the top of the zone..he pitches it there...I swing at varying times..sometimes as it's coming out of his hand just for giggles..and still get "very late". It almost seems like something in the game doesn't really take into account where/when you swing if a pitcher is throwing a triple-digit fast ball.

It's been said by very smart baseball people that any major leaguer can hit a triple-digit fastball if they know it's coming and where. Doesn't seem to translate for me in MLB the Show. Probably just me.

We were poor growing up and I didn't have a great diet. I was able to play baseball and was actually all-conference senior year. But, my mental capacity (which may relate to eye-hand coordination in regards to controller input) may not be where it's required to hit a virtual baseball fastball with a virtual major leaguer swinging a virtual bat. That's virtually all I got. Perhaps I need to face the truth and just give it up.

It's proven the difference between a major leaguer and a lifetime minor leaguer is the ability to hit Uncle Charley. In this game, I suppose, it's the ability to hit the high fast ball.

And, this doesn't always happen. I've hit some high fastballs. It just depends on the the fickleness of the game I guess. Just some games, regardless of the difficulty level, top of the zone is like a black hole for "very late" whiffs. Wish I could figure it out.

I think it has to do with connection like others said, but I think it also has to do with pitcher confidence like I said in the other thread. When confidence is high, those fastballs seem to skip frames on the screen.

All things aside, I feel like this has to be a connection thing.

If you can go into custom practice on legend and spend 15 minutes swinging at fastballs, I’m sure you’ll start hitting a couple.

Online, sometimes outlier 102 can be tough if your connection is bad.
