Not to pile on, but I will. The games watered down. I’ve said this before, there’s nothing special about any of it this year so far. Maybe it’ll change, but I doubt it. No one can achieve something without making sure everyone can get it. In years past, there were cards that meant something, it meant you were either 1) better than most, or b) spent more than most. Each option was fine and each option had its pros and cons, but at then end of the day, it was a special card. I remember in 17 (or maybe it was 18, they’ll all blur together) the only way you were getting Chipper was a long [censored] grind, and those that got him, felt a sense of some major accomplishment. Now, just play 15-20 mins a day and you can get it because SDS will make sure no ones special. Need more XP, here’s 50k for collecting a card that’s worthless and only takes 15 mins of moments. You can’t make WS? Here, go win/gimmick your way to 40 wins or wait 2-3 weeks and it’ll be dirt cheap so everyone can have it.
It’s the ultimate participation trophy collection game. I used to wait in massive anticipation for each new ranked season to see what special card I might want to work my [censored] off for, now, meh, I’ll wait two weeks, try it out and then face it in every game I play online. Events? Not worth the effort anymore, cards are barely exciting and it’s turns into whoever can cheese/gimmick/glitch their way to the top level the quickest, wins, sort of.
It’s all too watered down now. I can load up a RS game, close my eyes, and wait till 4 pitches in and pretty much guess my opponents lineup, starting pitcher, and pitch count with about 90% accuracy. Where’s the excitement? I don’t know, ask SDS, they’re caving just like their mentor Manfred. It’s a race to the bottoms at this point. I sure do hope and pray something changes soon.

Just won 2 straight games 1-0.

I understand most of your arguments, but I just wanted to point out that curveballs are most definitely not useless. Especially sweeping curveballs, which have been known as the most useless pitch in the game for years, are exceptionally deceptive this year and I've made countless good players look silly throwing it in the right sequence. I find it a hard pitch to hit as well when it's used correctly.

To offer a counter argument
I have really enjoyed this year's game because of expanded options there is so much today and you don't have to limit your self to focus on one aspect to long.
Now I'm saying this from a point of view that I don't play RS or BR much however the new reward paths have made me invest more time in them. BR especially with the program is way more enjoyable.
I understand the argument that their likely will be a lack of those desirable special cards but that could change as the player base thins out over time.
The whole playing the same team argument is a little old as generally there is a group of 12-15 players that are in every lineup and that has been the case for years hence why everyone talks about their end game line up in May and how every time a card comes out its mention at nauseum that this card is not end game.
I think TA season 2 will be a good indicator of what their plans are as we move along, if it's the same format as season 1 then I am concerned that their will be a rinse and repeat method to the big programs that's not good but if the add new mission that we didn't see in season 1 and the reward path has increase rewards then we are in for some good stuff mid summer

Can you not make this argument for everything in life?

FFS, the game has been out for exactly 1 month. They can’t release different cards every day. They’ve been doing a great job with content. Playing the game year round isn’t for everyone

Great contribution to the thread. Saying not all of us agree with OP’s premise makes me an employee? Lol

It's true we are 1 month into the game we haven't even scratched the surface of content.
Why is the response to any rebuttal that the poster has to work for SDS.

And the cheater , sds do nothing.

Contact hitters are most definitely not useless imo. Kenny Lofton & Jackie Robinson have the two highest batting averages on my team & Stan Musial seems to get a base hit everytime I pinch hit with him.
As far as the pitching goes...You just gotta wait for mistakes dude & everyone commits them - They’re unavoidable. Any pitcher can get lit up in this game.
I personally think this year’s show is the best all around version of the game ever & I’ve been playing since 15.

lol, there are already too many good cards. I agree with the OP and I'm a first year player on XBOX. Diamond players should be like jedi, extremely rare and powerful. You should be lucky to have just 1 diamond player total on your team, not a complete lineup, bench, and bullpen full of them... what a joke!
When I got into this, that what I was expecting. I like the game but disappointed with DD. It may be the best ultimate team on market, but it is still just a cash grab and nothing else.
I would have spent all my time in RTTS if it were like last year's version. Grinding up different players on different teams. They should have tied RTTS with franchise mode, like NBA2K does. You play through the campaign and it dumps your CAP into franchise mode to get drafted by a team. Could have been same here play RTTS to get through the minors and then when you reach MLB, dump you into franchise mode.

I think I disagree with every single point about DD in this comment. One diamond player would be beyond boring and there would be no feeling of accomplishment. As for rtts I don't play that mode except this year I had to a little for my ball player.

I will say one of my absolute biggest gripes is that you can play guys that just sit nothing but fastball, but because it is so easy to foul pitches off they can just keep wasting pitches until you have to throw a fastball.

Can you please tell me how I get Chipper playing 15 minutes a day?

I think it's being aimed more toward casual players than years past. They want a bigger fan base and for somebody like me who can only make time to play an average of 1-2 hours a day I can say that you aren't getting the LS collection done already unless you play a lot more than 1-2 a day or paying over $1000 in real money. I'm trying to get just the A.L done and still haven't gotten there. To those saying it's super easy to aquire every top card already.... you are full of [censored] and you know you have to grind your [censored] off to get all the LS players done already. Some of you guys that's only purpose in life is to play video games 8 hours a day take that for granted and also get whiny when you see others at the same point as you already. I'm glad it's not super difficult to aquire a good team because I can't play enough to have a God squad like some, but I can still compete with them. There are all different types of players out there with different schedules and most of have a life outside of videogames and kudos to SDS for making a more level playing field... it's nice being able to work, have a family, a house to take care of and still be able to log on a couple hours at night and still enjoy online matchups.

Grinds are a terrible example. What we actually miss are event exclusive 12 and 0 diamonds, 21 and 0 br diamonds etc
