Is it supposed to be this way

I got to bad a 5th time for MadBum in the 8th. Joy. Although I only actually batted 4 times. I walked up 2 for 4. Just bunted at the ball 3 times to move things along.
-
Had to add this because it just happened after the last post. My pitcher was walked on 4 pitches. That just makes things so exciting and believable...Kudos you dynamos at SDS.
-
Because when you're player locked to a pitcher you have to bat. They don't bother changing the player lock code for moments.
-
Homered with Madbum during one of those moments. I think it's fun to bat where it doesn't matter for the outcome of the moment. Assuming I probably got slightly higher XP for the bonus homer, but I don't know if moments work that way.

One thing I’ve noticed about moments that is annoying and intentional by SDS:
During some hitting moments, for your first AB, you’ll notice sometimes that they’ll have a runner on 2B with no one out. The problem? When there’s a base open like that, the AI throws A LOT more balls and borderline pitches
A lot of hitting moments start with a runner at 2B with 0-1 out and it causes hardly any strikes to be thrown that AB....cannot tell me thats not intentional
If you’re decent/good at the game, yeah, not really a big deal...simply wait for a strike or good pitch to hit. But for most, especially in moments that require multiple XBH etc, this is just unnecessary; why have that runner at second?

Again, it's not so much pitcher's batting I'm complaining about, that horse has been ridden hard.
It's the fact we still have huge bugs in the game (that are just little coding tweaks to fix I would think) that show said pitchers 2 for 4 when you've only batted 3 times. How hard is it to keep accurate track of player's AB's? I've seen this repeatedly in box scores. You look at a dozen online box scores and you'll see impossible numbers recorded. Guy with 5 hits in 3 AB's. Cumulative 10 hits for the team but if you look at every player AB you might see only 8 accounted for.
I mean, even the dullest sports sim game manages to accurately track stats. That's easy code. WHY SDS WHY?

I get the complaint about pitchers batting but who cares if it tracks your at bats properly? It means absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. To be honest with you, that has probably been there a lot and most people don't even notice, I know I never do. Sadly, now that you've pointed it out, it's noticeable lol

This probably the least important complaint I have seen.

Finally decided to jump on the MadBum evolution.
The complaint I see out here all over the place is why does SDS code the Moments so that pitchers must bat? I dunno because it never really comes into play in the outcome of the moment.
But, in this particular moment I'm supposed to pitch 8 innings w/o giving up a hit. Check. First AB for Mad [censored] was 3rd inning. I got a single..meaningless and irrelevant for the most part..but surly slowed down the flow.
The animation has me batting again in the 5th. I'm 1 for 2 when I walk up, but I've only batted once.
Now, is this just lack of effort on the programmers part? No focus on the details of a product that you're putting out to market. Or, do we just randomly bat our pitchers for effect? If so, that makes less sense than having them hit at all.
Some day I'll find a real positive thing to say about this game. Promise.
_____Edit. Supposed to pitch 8 innings w/o giving up more than 2 runs. Also, why did "B U -M" in MadBum get censored? God help us.
Laziness, sloppiness, no quality control.

Moments have been like that sjnce the beginning.i cared at first, but since it doesnt affect what you have to do i stopped paying any mind several months in.
As for pitchers batting in moments- they just copy/paste the game code into moments rather than programming it separately.which probably saved them months of work not to mention the inevitable bugs with parts of the game working differently from each other. -
