Some of you are really insufferable. The dude is one of the best players in baseball and the most unique. He absolutely deserves a diamond LS card.

SDS needs to find a way to make him diamond, he has been unreal on all sides of the game, He can pitch, hit for power, play D and steal a bag. I knooow I knooow his stats for hitter and pitcher dont really mix but having him as an 80 is another misfire.

SDS does some weird things with the roster. I’m course biased but look at the pirates roster, specifically Richard Rodriguez, Bryan Reynolds, and Adam Frazier. None of them got any sort of bump last update.

Reynolds leads the league in doubles, is hitting .300, and as a near .400 OBP. Frazier leads the league in hits and was batting around .315-.320 and has a co tact of 68 vs righties which is proposterous. He also hits lefties quite well. Rodriguez has been dominant with a minuscule WHIP and no HR’s

Meanwhile, Kendall graveman who was much worse than Rodriguez till this year got bumped 6 last update past Rodriguez. Graveman was literally horse excrement in 19 and 20. Kolten Wong got a rather large bump vs righties based on 24 AB’s...and most laughable yasmani grandad went 3-9 vs lefties...and got a 12 point contact boost.

They aren't TRULY accurate with their ratings because they balance the players based on sales and unlockables. In other words, they have zero integrity

That home run he hit tonight above the zone is the one people always say can't be hit out in real life, Ohtani is unreal.

That has nothing to do with his LS card performance. Glass man Stanton is an 85, Shohei is a low gold 80, in no way shape or form are those ratings legit

They'll eventually upgrade his hitting stats on his LS card and he may go diamond this year.

Hitting stats don't move him up or down bc he is a primary pitcher

He still has a diamond card. He may eventually go diamond but it’s probably hard for them with his split positions. Just keep holding all of them you have and maybe he will hit Diamond for you.

    Ohtani:
    2019 - .286/.343/.505 - .848 OPS - 119 OPS+
    2020 - .190/.291/.366 - .656 OPS - 77 OPS+
    2021 - .263/.313/..612 - .925 OPS - 149 OPS+

You think that’s a 3 year Diamond? He is off to a fantastic start in 2021, that’s why they gave him a POTM Diamond. If he continues to play as good as he has, he’ll eventually get there, but you can’t make every player who has a good 40 game start a diamond.

I didn’t include pitching stats because, well, he threw a whopping 1.2 innings last year, not sure that would help his case.

Don't even bother trying to convince these people. Some still think live series cards have a purpose for anything other than collections, investing, and for silver and golds:BR. These discussions get brought up after every single roster update. Any player that deserves a good card will get one at some point via finest, POTM, or a flashback card. Getting bent out of shape over live series ratings is stupid IMO

I think since they have the MA Ohtani out now, they're not in a hurry to make him a diamond.

I’m not sure they’ll ever have stat lines to show how good Ohtani is. Bringing up his BA is weird, he speed the same, bring up all 30+ categories dude is top 5% in and see how many guys in the league even have stat lines to compare next to him. There is none. There isn’t anyone in any sport doing what he’s doing or even close to it. Just enjoy it
