Soooo this game isn't broken yet?

So I'm at 830 in RS, this is the highest I've been since 19, and I'm starting to realize, there hasn't been a "game breaking" update this year, yet.
We all know what I'm talking about. In 19 when they broke hitting early on, same with 20 (personally hitting in 20 was the worst). Maybe all the server issues are stopping them from adding some game breaking update? Just started thinking of that, hopefully I didn't just jinx something.

In the livestream they said they are happy with how the game is playing right now and that they are only looking at potentially changing things like contact swings, R2 and stuff

That's going to happen, the only way to stop lucky base hits from effecting the outcome of any game is to make all bad swings out and all good swings hits, otherwise sometimes that will decide games.

Well that sounds like they learned from 20. In 20, hitting just fun. I get it was a little broken, but it was awful after that first big update. and yeah contact swing probably should be nerfed, a bit.

yeah that's not really "broken" more just unlucky. there should be a slight tune to jamshots.

Well that sounds like they learned from 20. In 20, hitting just fun. I get it was a little broken, but it was awful after that first big update. and yeah contact swing probably should be nerfed, a bit.
First week of 20 was great until they 'fixed' it because a minority of online gamers whined and SDS caved in. then it was never the same.
21 so far is really really good and I am glad they have not changed it much or broke it.

I don’t think a pci of 7 or 9 should ever be a hit, really. It’s bad enough that you can have a 15 that makes the perfect sound but goes foul.

But at what point then are we not playing baseball and just adding up who had higher PCI numbers. Don't get me wrong, there is a balance and skill should win out at minimum 9 out of 10 times, but there is a fine line.

I mean it's still baseball. that's just how it works sometimes. if you say a 7 shouldn't be a hit, you eliminating a ton of the randomness that is baseball. Not all hits are great contact.

The only thing broken is me continually missing the pci by millimetres. I’m either too High or too low.
The game itself is broken. Constant crashes, people in the crowd look like aliens, laggy, buggy.
Once the game plays it’s ok though. Altho I won a ranked game
Last night 1-0
And at the end it said “game not found”

But this is not, in fact, baseball. It’s a baseball video game. What happened to the whole, “stick skills reign supreme” thing? I’m fine with 7’s and 9’s being hits in sim mode or casual, but “competitive” was supposed to be just that. There is nothing competitive about hits on poor pci placement. It’s not what was promised.

The problem in that is we dont know whst the numbers mean.they told us 15 was the best possible placement but never said how the other numbers relate to the best, we see the number is half of the best number and think it should be terrible in comparison, but without giving us the context it could be only 5% worse for all we know.
All we can do is speculate(and the unlucky ones get furious and hate the game) -
