It's going to make pitcher windup a big part of pitcher selection, no way would I want to use Kershaw.

Quick pitching is in to make the games faster online, same reason it doesn’t get all the bell and whistles presentation stuff that offline do. People have to wrap their minds around that when playing online; it’s not all about how you play the game, it’s to move things along. In NHL they used to (haven’t played in 2-3 years maybe it’s changed ) have all the presentation and replays and you’d get [censored] that would watch every second of it; very annoying.
your talking about broadcast presentation and fastplay. I get that they choose fastplay in online to speed up the game. I'm cool with that. But these guys want to speed up the pitching and hitting to where you have no time to think about the pitch count or situation. I don't want to play like that. I like a good flow to the game. not too slow, not too quick. I think SDS has this right and shouldn't change anything.

There is a big difference between pressing r2 to stop the quick pitch/slide step cheese and spamming r2 trying to get the pitcher to screw up. That is why they need to go back to the way it used to be where you could press it once during a pitch. Once you release pressing r2 again is disabled.

I just hate how some people slide step with a runner on base EVERY SINGLE PITCH. It completely messes with the physics of the game and makes the pitch very difficult to time up. Quick pitch/slide steps = very unrealistic

I agree. It's abused.

There's a very simple way around this. Select your pitch and wait 3 to 4 seconds to throw it. After you do that a few times, your opponent will get tired of it and stop pressing R2.

Untrue. Experienced it yesterday. The other user was very enthusiastic about multiple R2 presses during every at bat (every pitch, actually).

As a pitcher, I would slide step with a runner on 1st every time. I had catchers that couldn't throw out runners without it, so that's how I always pitched.

I don't think those you that use R2 for legitimate reasons have a clue how often it is abused online. I can promise you there are far more people that use it for abuse/cheese purposes than use it for valid reasons

This is so true, we were forced to slude step if you could not deliver to the playe in undrr 1.3
-
I am an anti-R2er and am fine with having to set before delivering a pitch. It's not having to wait a bit in between pitches that I hate so much - it's having my timing and location of the pitch thrown off when R2 is pressed.
-
I bet all the people complaining about R2 use it themselves. ha.

If they turned on balks like the way the game is supposed to be played, you all would be really crying. That's how this game used to be played. And it made the game so realistic. when you loaded the bases and got nervous, some people would balk. I even did that. With a runner on base, you needed to come set with your pitcher.
So just stop crying over this R2 thing. Some people don't want to play rapid fire baseball. they want to relax and enjoy playing.
I agree with your rapid pitching thing. I wouldn't mind the balk thing coming back if it was done correctly. I don't want a balk called just so the other team can get a free run. I also think R2 needs to be limited to one per pitcher. One time to see their arsenal is plenty. If you want to study where you are getting pitched, hit the pause button.

1 practise swing per pitch.

Seen a lot about the R2 so far and I am against it being used inappropriately but 100% think it's ok to have an aid providing information on what pitches he can throw and in game showing where he has thrown them. After reading what you said I think you solved it, remove R2 all together the batting player request time if granted hit start and do whatever you need to do then resume game because all the info you need if your not using the r2 button inappropriately is in the pause menue. Along with that I think maybe add 1 minute to the pause timer and it never replenish it. Seems like everyone who is reallly playing clean wins. If someone like to pitch fast or use quick pitch it's on the batter to request time quickly it's not as if after a hitter or 2 your not aware that the opponent likes to work quickly pitchers all work on different clocks if you dont like it hit the ball or counter by using appropriate measures. Pitchers will speed up and slow down throughout a game it's not a shady tactic its actually really smart. Anything within the rules you can do to steal some comfort from your opponent is going to create opportunities for you but clicking r2 inhopes of messing up the pitcher is inappropriate. The people who dont like the quick pitch need to own that it's there fault I don't think you can completely stop a player from pausing no matter how fast you pitch

Dude this is a really dumb take.... People don't r2 to prevent from quick pitching. They try and use it as a strategic move to get better pitches to hit. They try and time it so that you are beginning your motion so that it messes up your input. I don't qp and people r2 me all the time and they again time it when they think i am beginning my input and they don't start until after they haven't hit me for a few innings. If r2 was only allowed within the first second of the pitch then cool but it's not. It's allowed any time up until you are in the middle of your motion... -

That is certainly valid, given that the runner on 1st is actually a threat to steal. But I think we all know there are guys out there who will still slide step with a guy on 1st who has <40 speed, or say bases loaded, every pitch to glitch their way out of the inning.
-
I use R2 intentionally to slow guys that wanna throw like it's a racing game or something. If your not trying to quick pitch... I'm never hitting R2... if they take out R2... they should force the pitcher to wait at least 2 seconds before throwing again.
