I understand for RTTS programs such as spark plug I have to play some diamond dynasty in order to get those points. Do I have to have my created player in the lineup?

You don’t have to play any DD to level your archetype now. They fixed that in patch 3.

Yeah you really don’t have to do it anymore, I mean you still can earn the points from using your player in DD, but it really does nothing now but speed up earning points.

In DD you can significantly speed up the points. Just play some vs. CPU games on rookie and pick a really team obviously.
Works great for your hitter or pitcher, especially a pitcher.

For every archetype, there are two types of objectives - repeatable and once-only. For instance you might have a repeatable to get 8 hits, and every time you repeat that you get 2 points towards your progression. But you might have another one-time target to get 20 hits which rewards maybe 8 points. So hitting those one time targets (especially the easier to get ones) can help speed along archetype progression.

You also have DD versus RTTS progression. They both have repeatable and one-time awards (as above). So in some cases, it might be a shorter path to level your archetype to at least hit some of the one-time awards in DD (and whatever repeatables you accomplish along the way).

Whether you accomplish the points in DD or RTTS they both count towards your archetype progression.

For myself, not really a big fan of DD. But I've played more this year than in all previous years combined. Because in some cases the "grind" of repeatable archetype progression is just so long that playing some games in DD and grabbing at least some of the one-time points is simply too tempting.

And yes, when you're playing DD you need to have your character in the lineup. I usually put mine at the top of the batting order to get maximum plate appearances.

    Hope this helps.

Can you put your ballplayer in the leadoff spot in a game vs CPU, play as the away team, and only play your first at bat then quit out to get credit? Or do you need to complete the game for the missions to count? Would be much faster to rinse and repeat just playing one at bat over and over.

Yeah, you can do that. Works for most missions too.

Awesome. I'm about to have several hundred of those Quit/Disconnect Rituals
