I’d consider myself to be a decent player (made WS last year, 11-1 this year) but I cannot stand how bad the pitching is this year. Every slight miss in pure analog goes right down the middle and ends up being a home run 90 percent of the time it’s like clockwork. The past 5 ranked games I’ve played have been double digits for both teams it seems like. It is quite an accomplishment to even put up a 0 in an inning.

Same with meter. I get “good” release times, yet the ball goes nowhere near my targeted zone. I almost never walked people in the previous 5 years or online play, but I have unintentionally walked some guys already this year. Also, curve [censored] that are supposed to be in the dirt often touch the bottom of the zone for me, and sliders and cutters that are supposed to be away go straight down the middle quite often. It seems “good” release isn’t really “good” anymore for meter. You have to be perfect or lucky.

Slider down and away? It would be a shame if we took it upon ourself to hit the batter....

meter pitching is driving me insane. I have tried analog and it's not for me. Even when I'm close to the mark the pitch is either an obvious ball or right down the middle. And yes even when I hit the mark with pitchers that have decent control the pitch is either a ball or down the middle. very few actually paint the corners.

The horrible pitching is making me want to quit playing until it’s fixed. My pitches are literally being controlled by the game itself and serving up meatballs for my opponents to crush. What’s the point of getting “good” release when in fact it ends up being BAD?

The game is forcing us to walk people or makes our pitches go perfectly in to be crushed, completely removing user input. Surely you see the problem in that....right?

I’m sure you must have played someone who just throws dots all game? It is possible. Facing opponents like that early on this year motivated me to abandon every other pitching input but analog. My ERA has come down under 5 since doing that.
I know analog is still not perfect, but at least you have some control over how you miss.

Like Warpedzilla said, it just isn’t for me. I’ve attempted using analog several times over the years and not only am I not good at it, I just don’t find it enjoyable. Sure, meter looks boring I suppose, but I’ve been using it since I started playing the show. I’m sure I’ll give analog another chance eventually, but I always come crawling back to meter.

Yeah, there is a problem with pitching. But arguing that you should never walk a batter unless you want to is ludicrous
