There’s an influx of cards right now because of the bundle SDS just gave out. You’ll just have to wait until it levels out again.
No i get that, I just dont understand why anyone would see a listing for 50k and then decide to list theirs for 43k. doesnt make sense

They just want to take the money and run. Some don’t want to wait around and nickel and dime the market.

I’ll do this if I want the stubs now, but I also know that I can get a few more stubs than if I chose just sell now. So, instead of waiting 40 minutes for 3000 extra stubs, I can get 1000 extra stubs in two minutes.

you know most of the time you only have to wait like 5 minutes. All youre doing is driving the price down bc the next five people all underbid each other and it keeps going. I just witnessed chapmans buy now at 50k and someone put in an order at 43k while his sell now was 42k. Like what?

When it comes to the market, people are going to do what they're going to do. Only thing you can do is try to find a way to work around it. There's plenty of stubs to be had by anyone who plays the market.

I agree and im not trying to regulate how people play the market. I Just dont know why people would do that or maybe I was missing some type of tactic

Don’t tell me when and where I can lose tons of stubs please.

Also with more players on the Xbox side of things u gonna see this more I know I sure have more than last year . Some people just don’t care they just wanna sell stuff ASAP no point in even commenting on this it is what it is .

So, if you know the market is going to tank for whatever reason, makes sense to drop you're price and try to sell it at 43 before it tanks to 20 or less, for the guy who doesn't realize what's happening it looks like a deal at 43.. Honestly these things you guys look at that seemingly disrupt the market, like big undercuts, etc actually create the conditions later where there are gaps to exploit. Those impulsive mistakes by people create opportunity, if a card you want to sell starts getting crashed by underbids just hold and find something else to flip right now.
If everyone always bidd up or down by 1 perfectly you would have nothing to exploit and there would be no $$ in flipping.

Youre free to do whatever you want my man. I'm more asking why someone would do this but i guess it just boils down to not wanting to wait for the extra stubs

Yes I don’t like having too many stubs at a time. It makes me act different to my friends and family.

Oh thats exactly what im doing. Like i said in another post on this thread I more so wanted to know the reasoning behind the impulsivity but its just impatience ig

Remember that a huge number of people are flipping so a lot of the time you are just selling to other flippers. Volume>>>>>Margin. You might get a better price but another guy just sold 5 while you waited.

I mean I dont mind waiting. Usually its not any longer than a couple minutes and im flipping multiple cards at a time anyway

This is big too.. Volume, you need volume. I got into a little spiff with a streamer not too long ago who insisted people were breaking the market by doing stupid things... I tried to explain, to no avail, that those mistakes actually created the market. He was pointing out these bigs gaps on cards also and I tried again, unsuccessfully to explain that sometimes those big gaps you see are on cards that don't move, no volume... whats the point in making 20k if in that amount of time you could have made 40 by flipping cards that move...

I didn't intend to take a jab at you. I've worked the market for so long I'm just used to it. I think people just get in a hurry mostly. They want stubs now and don't want to wait. But I'm pretty sure there are those who get their jollies by squatting on certain cards just to hack people off.

Oh yea I know, I just wanted to make it clear that the post wasnt to complain about people on the market but just try to understand it a little better.

Yes! And this is really the key. Move items as quickly as possible. Have as many items working as you can handle. Speed is what brings in the stubs.

I get it, but, like I said, I maybe want the stubs now and if I list at 43k, that’s 1000 more stubs than I would get at sell now. In general, I don’t do that, but sometimes I do, especially if I’m annoyed by getting outdone by 1 stub every time I post an order.

There’s a lot of approaches to buying and selling on an open market. Personally, I don’t like being in a hurry, so if I get in on a card that has a lot of movement, I’ll usually just move on, rather than try to outbid to make my transaction go through quicker.
Buy and hold can still work if you know what to buy.
