Because the announcers will go "Ooooh, the umps are gonna have to stop this game!" but never once is a game ever rain-shortened.

I think World Series and All-Star Baseball are the last ones to do it.
Fun Fact Triple Play '97, although on PS One and lousy graphics by today's standards, is the only game to feature individual team caps for the All Star Game. -

Ahhh the old days when games got rained out..Let's not forget the good ole Nintendo days. Bases Loaded I and II. Hit Oko/Fendy with the bases loaded an no one out and the benches would clear and the pitcher would take a beat down. Incites violence I guess, so we'll likely never see that.
