Playing on 144 Hertz monitor when the game support 60fps
-
I heard that the game is locked at 60fps is that true? I have a 144 Hertz monitor but I know the Xbox series s and X only support up to 120 FPS. My question is can I play the game at 120 FPS while the game only supports 60fps is there any benefits?

Your monitor will only go as high as the game will support in any case, for this game is 60 fps
-
you wont get any benefit from a 144hz monitor except maybe future proofing yourself. I would just get a 60hz monitor that has a low response time

Can you console noobs stop giving advice like this, if the OP has no problem getting a 144 hz monitor then let him..maybe he's into PC gaming and can utilize it. I wish I had gotten a 144 hz or heck even a 100 hz monitor ultrawide..it would of been amazing for sim racing cause my PC has the horsepower for it.

you mean kind of like when offline only noobs always state their opinion on how the game needs to cater to them regardless of what the majority wants?

Even if Show supported 120 fps, your monitor would need to have hdmi 2.1, and to my knowledge no PC monitors have it yet, or just now coming out with it. Probably cheaper to buy a TV with hdmi 2.1

hdmi 2.0 can support 4k 120 with the right settings. 8 bit color, no hdr and 4.2 chroma sub sampling.

This is a yes and no :). HDMI 2.0 can't support 4K at 120 hz..you would need HDMI 2.0b..so basically any monitor made since like 2016. This is just for console noobs to have a little education.

Also I clearly said he would want a 144hz if he were future proofing himself. meaning PC gaming in the future potentially. get off the high horse

You are such a casual noob, a real man would get a 240 hz monitor and then turn it down to 144 because of screen tearing. What a noob.

Only a console noob would say something like that, basically all monitors 100 hz and above these days have G-sync or Freesync so screen tearing doesn't exist. You could cap that monitor anywhere below say 141 frames and never get screen tearing.
