What is Rating Mod?

Hi guys, probably stupid question, but what is Rating Mod parameter on Manage Squad screen under my team's Overall?

I believe it's the total ratings adjustment for your roster where you see a +1, +2, etc, when a player is hot or cold.

Yeah so if your team is really good, you'll have a really high rating mod. So the rating mod is a number which is added to your current RS rating to determine your rating for matchmaking. So if your 350 rated with a +75 rating mod, you'll be matched up with players at a 425 rating.

Oh, I understand. So probably that player with 425 rating is using all bronze players with rating mod +0 but is way better player than me, so we are on equal ground with my diamonds/golds team

Until 2017, a higher rating mod would affect your matchup window when 'looking for opponent.' This made finding value bats for the bench and bullpen a viable strategy to climb the ranks and/or tinker with the quality of the opposition you may be facing.
I believe this effect was removed in 2018 and it certainly was not in effect for 2019. I have not seen any feedback on whether or not it is in play for 2020.
