So I've had enough of a sample size with 95 Ricky and the alomar card in events to say contact hitting sucks again this year.

Even against Lefties with Ricky he just flies out lazily. The best hits I have with him are crappy PCI placements that bloop over the infield or tail out near the foul line for triples.

Most times I get good input with contact hitters its just a fly out SIGH.

Feels exactly like Biggio did all of last year.

Has anyone had success using contact swing instead of normal? It's getting to the point where I'm just going to replace these contact guys or drag bunt when I use them. Shame that bunting 100% of the time with Ricky would probably net a .300 batting average meanwhile normal hitting with him I'm like .230

I'm crushing everything with Robbie. Power's still king, but he splashes the field for base hits and doubles all day. I still use normal swing with him though.

Dee Strange-Gordon from the Miami collection would like to have a word.

Dude is hitting over .400 with 38+ hits for me in the lead off spot. Lots of doubles and triples.

What are you using contact hitting for? Normal hitting will work just fine for those players. Yes they might line out more often but I’d rather be lining out than settling for cheap Texas league bloops. Also your chances of doubling or tripling go way up with a normal swing removing the possibility of terrible jumps while trying to steal bases.

Def sus, for once the hitting actually isn't broken... contact hitters spraying the ball, power hitters launching nukes

Maybe I just stink with Ricky and Alomar, those are the only 2 I’ve used enough to feel like I can make conclusions about their performances.

Guess I’ll keep at it !!
