Is there an equipment workaround?

@bchatley_PSN - I just played a second three game series. Same pattern - no equipment boost on the first game of the series, equipment boost on games #2 & #3. One thing I can't help but notice - for both series, in the first game when I went to select my loadout (I have two) the one I wanted had the bright green "Active" label on it. But in games #2 & #3 for both series, neither of my loadout had the bright green "Active" label.
What can I say - game is buggy as hell. And I stand corrected regarding my initial post so thanks.
I’ll have to see if making another loadout works for me. I only have one currently. Better to have it working 2 of 3 instead of none

In the games there was a boost,... how did you tell/confirm?? Do you mean the stat increase was invisible in the player menus and such?? Not the plus on the top of the player card but actually changing your listed overall??
The only way I’ve been able to confirm is to swing and miss and look at the little box that pops up with CON, POW, VIS. Then you can go into the player card and see if it’s the number for those or if you add the +whatever number is there to see if you’re getting them (if you don’t know what it should be beforehand)

Got it. Is the boost sitting on top with the icon or is it actually reflected in your base overalls like in DD?? I’ve seen the former and pretty sure it doesn’t actually impact your player. I have NOT seen the later however

It’s sitting on top of whichever attribute bar you’re looking at

During my first at bat, bring up your player card (pause, diamond button, R2 to get to your guy and not the pitcher) and verify your CON (make sure you not versus L or R, and the + number above it). Then during the AB, immediately after a swing (whether or not there is contact) - a little box comes up for just a second. Doesn't stay long. And it has a bar which shows you your CON, PWR, and VIS. If your CON is the exact same as your player card without the + number, then your gear isn't working. If your CON is the exact same as your number and the + number combined, then your gear is working.
In my case, my CON v L is 59 and my gear is +13. So when facing a lefty in the first game, the number in the pop-up was 59. In the later games it was 72.
If the CON says that it's the same as what your stat

I've been testing this a bit the last hour or so. And I'm pretty well convinced that this has something to do with the bright green "Active" label that appears on the menu where you pick your loadout before each game. Maybe it's just anecdotal.
So far what I have noticed is that in the games where I have the bright green label when picking loadout - no equipment bonus. Which always seem to be the first game of each series. But in games #2 & #3 of the series, I get equipment bonuses. And in between those games you also get the menu to pick your loadout for the game - but notably the menu before games #2 & #3 none of the loadouts have the bright green label.
My next test - try this with two loadouts which are exactly the same. Before Game #1 pick the one which is NOT the "active" one. See if I get equipment bonuses. Then games #2 & #3 pick whichever and also see.
It's crazy the work-arounds players have to use just to get the game working somewhat like it seems SDS might have designed it to work. Truly a buggy POS release.

Okay, I've spent some time digging into this. I cannot figure out a way to get the equipment bonus on the first game of a series. Doesn't matter if I have only one loadout, or if I have multiple loadouts. If I have multiple loadouts that are exactly the same or different, doesn't matter. First game of a series I don't get equipment bonuses.
If I have only one buildout, I consistently get equipment bonuses during the second and subsequent games of each series. If I have more than one buildout, it seems that I intermittently get equipment bonuses. Of 6 games I played this way (3 series total, 3 games each series). But, even worse, when I have multiple buildouts it seems relatively easy to get Attribute progression to "bug". Which then means going to DD and playing a stupid conquest game in order to kick-start Attribute progression.
For myself, I'm going back to using only one buildout and trying to get that working so that I get equipment bonuses at least in the 2nd and subsequent games of a series. Yet another thing about the 2021 version of the game to not love.

They need to fux this because im missing out on homeruns because my power is missing 23 attribute points

On Xbox Series X I never have seen the equipment work while batting or if you are on base you can pause and see your speed and steal numbers. I only have one profile.

I messed with profiles and stuff. Could never get the equipment to work on Xbox even sometimes. Sucks.

??? The equipment boosts do show up. If you pause the game when you are at bat, and you go into your player card, you will see a bunch of "+" numbers above your attributes. Those "+" numbers are actually your equipment bonuses.
The equipment bonuses do not show up on your OVR or as part of your statistics. They don't show up when looking at your archetype. The only place I've found that they show up is in the in-game pause menu. But they are there and do impact your performance.
Hope that helps.
I have also noticed that the boosts are on your player card in the ballplayer menu as well as on the player card in the pause menu. But for some reason during a game when you swing the boosts aren't applied like they are in dd.
