Any benefits to using the various batting and pitching modes

New to the game and the game does a poor job telling you so thought I would ask here. What are the benefits to using the different batting and pitching modes over Classic. Do they give you increased hitting or better pitching if you are good at them? Like I stated the game using Zone hitting but Classic in pitching during early release. Since then still using Zone hitting but tried Pulse pitching. Pulse is ok for me but am I getting anything out of it over Classic as far as pitching success if I consistently get good ratings on Pulse pitching other than just a personal difficulty chang?
