Extra Inning Rule Debut... But No DH Rule Option?
-
The extra inning rule, in which a runner starts on second base in extra innings, has made its debut (and hopefully its only appearance) this year. As a baseball simulation, it makes sense for SDS to add it.
(I hope to God that MLB gets rid of it after this year).
But what doesn't make sense is why they couldn't add a DH option for conquest games and games against the CPU. Just like games against the CPU that allow you to turn off the extra innings rule if you wish, so should there be a DH rule that can be activated or deactivated whenever the user prefers.
I've been asking for a DH option for years. Therefore, I'll admit that I'm peeved that they added a (hopefully) temporary rule to the game, but they didn't add a DH rule, which has been in the American League for almost 50 years.
My idea for a DH rule in this game was to, as previously stated, make it optional for games against the CPU (basically whenever you're not playing against another user). Making it optional satisfies the experience desired by National League baseball fans, while American League fans can play with a DH as its been done for the past half-century. The caveat would be that the DH cannot be used in online play (BR, Events, Ranked Seasons, etc.).
Can this at least be added in a patch?

A DH will never be implemented into the game until the NL adopts the DH as well. Which isn't likely to happen anytime soon either thankfully.

Did you read the part where I said it would be made optional for DD games against the CPU? That way, both American League and National League fans could benefit.

Yes, I did.

They have the ability to have DH be an option, it even used to be in DD. They chose to take it out when they removed seperate lineups vs LHP and RHP so I don't think they will put either of those back in the game unless the DH becomes universal

I hated those lineup choices, this caused all righty or all left lineups lol, not fun.

If someone wants to try that then I say let them. They'll get a SP for 5 innings and then I'll make sure to have at least 3 LHP/RHP put of the bullpen to run through their overloaded lineup. To me, it's perfectly realistic to have different lineups for different pitchers and either have the DH or not depending on the home team so I hope both things return. I dount it happens any time soon though

"Johnny Daaaaaamon! You have the sweetest [backside] in the league!"
I don't understand. Why did they get rid of the DH option along with the separate lineups? What did the DH have to do with it?

I think the reasoning given was that people could see the lineup screen and back out if it wasn't the matchup they want (I.e. vs LHP/RHP and DH or no DH). I'd rather that they just remove the ability to back out in the lineup screen than remove those lineup choices but that's the direction SDS went

That makes sense. If they made it optional against CPU and not online play, then the DH wouldn't be an issue.

I actually really like the new extra inning rule, in DD anyway. I absolutely despise it in real life baseball, but conquest is so much more fun without extra inning games that drag on forever. And I'm fine with no DH in DD. It would make bullpens almost pointless in most games.

DH takes out all strategy from real baseball and this game

Cause LS Kershaw was Trout prices then and no one could pitch with him cause everyone with an all LHB lineup would back out.
DH was removed because the cards got a lot better and you could have 8 HoF in lineup already. -

DH and definitely different lineups should be options

I actually agree on the conquest front. Sometimes I just couldn't get any offense going and I'd get frustrated as the game went into the 4th, 5th, and sometimes 6th inning.
