XP just stopped. Link issue?

Hi guys, I was playing today on PS5 and I linked my account and for some reason after I linked it and was playing two player with guest account on PS5, it just stopped my XP. I tried unlinking to it but I wonder if I need to shut the PS5 off and turn it back on. Has anyone had that problem too? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
