Stealing Problems?
-
Every time I steal I get the base but get negative steal. I'm not good at stealing. Any idea why this is happening or is it happening to anyone else?

I haven't tried stealing since I created a slow 1B. However, it could possibly be your jump, maybe?

I get a negative when I get a "bad" jump, positive when I get a good jump. You have to be pretty quick to get a good jump.

Thanks! I guess I just have to try to get better.

I get this from time to time, my biggest issue is getting tagged out between the base path on a force out and losing BR Agg....it's a force, I have to run

I get the negative steal on a successful steal also. Good jump or bad jump, I still stole the base! why get punished ? I have never gotten a + on the steal.

I suspect everybody is getting this, even if they're not seeing it. I thought I wasn't getting it until I started paying attention to the post game attribute gains & losses. Sure enough, every time I successfully stole a base, I got negative to Stealing in post game. There were no other actions in the game to account for the decline (no pickoffs, no other steal attempts, etc).

I think it's jump related, but I don't think it's that cut and dry. Some pitchers are very good in real life at holding runners so that it is harder to steal. I assume they would factor that in and if they are good at keeping a runner close, the better your jump needs to be to get a positive result.
It does seem a little silly to punish on successful steal attempts though.
