PSA: Don't Link both PS and XBOX Accounts!

Just a heads up so you all don't end up being crapped on like I just was. If you link both your XBOX and PSN ID's to The Show, it sets you back a default. I lost all my stubs, progression I made over the last four days and pre order bonuses. Everything is wiped out. Now I have to try and hunt down someone who can help me. At this point, I just want a refund to end this nightmare launch.

If you unlink the account you get your progress. What they should be more clear about is that Whalen you link accounts, you more or less make a new account, and that's why the progress is wiped

I think it has to do with the order in which you do things, right? I could be wrong, but I think if you create an MLB The Show account and then link a console account, The Show account is dominant and shows no progress. If you create an MLB The Show account, then log out and log back into your console account and link The Show account from there, then the console account is dominant and your progress remains. I think that's what I did when setting up mine and it all worked out fine. I have not tried linking my Xbox account yet though. I think I'll wait until the servers aren't actively on fire.

Ahh I see. That would make some sense for sure. Still couldn't be that difficult though

Note, the site will not let me unlink the accounts. When I click ‘unlink’, it prompts me to confirm acknowledging that it could give me a loss, logs me out, and the accounts are still linked. What a hot mess. Lost everything.

Yea same here. I’m pissed right now about it too. I had been grinding team affinities and was was making stubs so I could do collections. Had almost 200,000. Now everything is gone. Also can’t unlink my accounts so I literally have to start all over. I think SDS should find a way to make this up to players. Or at least some kind of Twitter post/update as to what’s going on.

I can't even unlink. And when I log into my PSN account via mobile, it prompts me with two accounts worth of progress. When I choose the older one, it says 'problem linking account'. Submitted a ticket as well, so angry. What a mess.

Happened to me. Go to game, my profile>unlink account. Should log you out, so do the same step except now link account. Follow the link, and if you are logged in on the website, log out from there and start over. Link the account that does not say it will reset your stats.

The unlink account doesn't exist for me in game, just link. On the site here I have the option to unlink but when I click it just sends me back to the login screen and nothing happens. Somebody owes me a bunch a money for all my preorder stuff that is gone now, not to mention all the progress and stubs I earned over 4 straight days of non stop playing.

This really is ridiculous. I had 8 years of online stats saved on my universal profile and now everything is reset to zero. Not to mention (again) everything that's been lost. I'm going to try and go through Playstation directly for a refund since I can't get any help from here, on Twitter or even a response to the ticket I submitted.

Same thing for me - Unlink account on the website just takes me to the login screen for my MLB The Show account, and then returns to the account page without doing anything. If I try to link through the link code it gives an error message. Right now it says my PSN account and XBox account are linked and my The Show account is "Not Connected"
I can see my progress on the website, but not in game. Not sure what to do! -

How do you unlink? I'm having the same experience as plaxus said above with being stuck in a loop.

the only fix I have seen has been from trying to unlink in game at your profile, other than that I am not sure

when you are viewing your inventory on shownation does it show what you should have or did that get wiped out as well?

Yep, it's all gone. Even the stubs. I submitted a ticket, but it would be great if someone from the support team at least acknowledged there is an issue via a post or tweet.
