Hi! Since early access released, I've spent a few hours messing around in stadium creator. For some context, I have been wanting a stadium creator since I first played MLB 08 The Show on PS2. This is the feature I have wanted the most in this game, and I was so excited to finally have it. Here are my thoughts so far:

    • The amount of diverse props that are included to put in your stadium is awesome. Between the scoreboards, trees, statues, concessions, buildings, etc., you can really make your stadium unique.

    • Only being able to play day games in the created stadiums is pretty disappointing, and I hope this is something that can be patched in the next few months. I'm sure making the lighting work in created stadiums is a technical challenge, especially making the lighting transition for a night game. A quicker fix could be to forget the lighting transition for this year, and just let us play games that start with night lighting. When using a created stadium in franchise, I need to be able to play day and night games.

    • You should be able to upload logos from the logo vault and put them anywhere in the stadium. I want to put my custom logo on the field, on the stadium walls, on the dugouts, etc. Not counting on this being patched in, but hopefully it will be there for MLB 22.

    • Being able to place bullpens outside of the field of play is definitely needed. I don't mind having the bullpens on the field, but that is old fashioned and we should be able to put modern home and away bullpens beyond the outfield or elsewhere.

    • Ability to customize dugouts. I want to put ads, logos, and lettering on the dugouts. It would also be nice to change the dugout material, and perhaps change the dimensions of the dugout.

    • I want to edit foul ground. I should be able to decide if there is a ton of foul ground (like in Oakland) or almost no foul ground (like in Fenway).

    • Ability to change the dirt color of the pitching mound. I would also like the option to put a dirt lane between the pitching mound and home plate (like in the Tigers/Diamondbacks stadium). It would be cool if I could put my custom logo on the back of the mound.

    • Hoping for domed stadiums/retractable roof stadiums in a future version of the game, as many others are.

    • Give me more flag props. We only have the American flag and the pride flag. Give me the state flags, different country flags, and generic colored flags.

    • I would also like more signs and ads that you can put on the stadium walls. Many of the signs included are not signs/ads that can be placed directly on the stadium walls. There are a few (MLB 21 The Show, San Diego Studio, Play Ball, Stand up to Cancer, Intentional Talk), but I would like a few more. For example, wall signs for MLB Network, Topps, and whoever else they have licensing deals with (Nike, Rawlings, etc.) Being able to put rotating ads behind home plate would be a nice touch.

    • I liked that they included lettering as props. In the future, I would like to be able to change the color of the lettering so it better fits my custom team.

    • In fact, I want more control over colors in the stadium. For example, you can choose the color of the stadium seating, but whatever color you pick ends up looking really dark. If I want neon orange seats, let me do that. Also, being able to put different colored seats in different parts of the stadium (like the Dodgers have). I want control over the color of the stadium walls, foul poles, dugouts, scoreboards, etc. I realize this may be a technical challenge with the lighting.

    • More grass patterns please! Many of the ones provided look really similar. For example, give me a pattern that has stars cut in the grass. It would be cool if my custom logo could be put in the outfield as a grass pattern (I'm sure that would be a challenge to do).

    • Stadium Creator vault clearly needs some work. We need to have the option to search the stadium vault by stadium name, creator name, and maybe # of downloads. We already have 4,000 pages of created stadiums, and that will only continue to grow. I hope this can be patched in for MLB 21.

    • Love the ambient music that plays while building a stadium. Relaxing.

    • Please give me the option to make any stadium template a blank canvas stadium. They only give us one blank canvas stadium, and I saved over it while building my first park. The only way to get a blank canvas now is to pull up another template and delete everything from it, which is a little annoying.

    • Overall, this is an awesome feature and I am going to spend many hours using it and seeing what other folks build. Definitely a strong base to build on (no pun intended) moving forward.

    • I expect them to patch in night lighting for created stadiums and the ability to search the stadium vault for MLB 21. These should have been included at launch.

Lastly, I know this is a different topic, but the uniform editor needs some additions now to keep up with the stadium creator. For the uniform editor:

    • Able able to place custom patches on the uniform sleeves.

    • Having additional uniform slots, not just home and road. Give me a home alternate and road alternate slot, in addition to home and road. Then, before a game with my custom team, let me pick my uniform, and mix/match pieces like we can do with MLB uniforms.

    • Having the option to put the Nike swoosh on the front of the jersey, and on the back of the pants. Maybe this is not possible due to licensing. If this can be done, then I would also like to put the New Era logo on the side of my custom cap, and the MLB logo on the back of my custom cap. Again, may not be possible due to licensing. However, if that is not possible, let us put a custom logo in those places (back of pants, side/back of hat), so we can create those logos and put them on. I know people already do this with the Nike logo for the front of the jersey.

    • For the batting helmet, having the option to make your logo a raised logo, since teams are doing that now.

    • I want to put a custom logo on my socks. Many teams do this now.

Anyway, those are my thoughts and feedback so far. What do you think? What do you like or not like?

I was going to create a wish list and you hit on nearly every one. I especially dislike only the USA flag being an option when MLB is multinational. At the very least Canada and Mexico should be included, and I would love state flags. Speaking of flags, we need some animation for wind in addition to the night games animations (lit neon signs, etc). As mentioned, a color picker for stadium walls and lettering would be great. We also need numbers in addition to letters so we can put up retired #s, etc,

This is my thought exactly and I'll add one more that somehow is controversial on their social media: Add the ability somehow to REPORT offensive stadiums! I've seen a LOT of [Insert name of dead black person] Memorial Parks with gorilla statues around the field. One of them had three repeating letters on the wall in dead center. One of them was lovingly called "9.11.01" with a plane prop flying towards a building.

Obviously I'm an adult and I can turn away from those if I see them in the vault, but since they can also be played online and this is a game rated "E for Everyone", we shouldn't have these things where kids can find them. I don't know, maybe like according to Facebook I'm just a "liberal snowflake", but I don't see how these types of things should be in a video game that's rated E. Since the devs obviously can't go through all the created stuff, at least let players be able to report them.
