Hitting has been good. One of the parts of the game that’s actually working. Gameplay is good.
Xbox or Playstation? Camera angle? Type of hitting?
I need more than "Hitting has been good".Hitting has been really good.best its been in a while.ive been playing since 14 zone since 17 and am 46.
from what you described it doesnt sound like you are doing anything wrong, give 500-1000 abs and it will feel second nature to you. -
Since I'm not a casual noob, I always find the hitting on The show on point on Legend with pitch speeds maxed out on Analog Stride with adjusted sliders for my Franchise every year.
-
If your new to the game it’s going to take a while to get good. Hitting has been good for me

I've been waiting for a baseball game of worth to come to Xbox for a long time. I'm currently playing on Veteran and have changed camera angles, types of hitting (from zone, to analog, to directional) and used power, contact and normal swings but NOTHING is consistent.
95+ mph fastball requires you to guess, you can hit the ball PERFECTLY and still dribble it, fly out or line drive out to a player...
Help me to understand why I suck soooo bad at hitting.
What Camera to use.
What hitting type (zone, analog, directional)
How to hit consistently.
Cause I just don't f***ing get this man. Is frustrating the heck out of me to the point I'm about to put down the game till it gets fixed.
RTTS is amazing but it's soooo frustrating. It’s like that because real baseball is like that. It’s supposed to be a sim including trying to get realistic averages and scores for games.
So yeah like others said - practice a lot and by the end of it you may end up a 300 hitter unless you’re turning the difficulty way down.
-
The 3 dots on the Reticle help.. top is Power/ Pop fly
Middle is Line Drive
Bottom is Grounder ..So depending where your Perfect/Perfect happened, It could've been a perfect/ perfect grounder..
Maybe you knew this, I'm just throwing ideas out
Also.. play on All Star. Rookie and Veteran always seem "harder" for some strange reason.
-
Ive had Zero issues hitting-
Was using the Cubs and the Jays unloaded on me, was able to almost comeback but fell a few runs short.
Toronto 7-12-0
Cubs 5-11-0
Playing on AllStar, Medium Fielding View and using The Show 16 batting and pitching View -

Lmao... I've played baseball games more than likely before you were born .
Analog does the work for you... "but you aren't a casual noob".
Anyone else hate kids like these? Nothing helpful. -

I think the problem you guys are having is that I don't believe xbox has ever had a SIM baseball game. That's what this is, or at least supposed to be, it is going to take LOTS of practice, just keep at it.
-
Just get better at the game? Lmfao
-
I would just say hang in there for another week. I'm definitely seeing myself get better at hitting. Not great but better. I did the tech test so if you didn't do that then I'm about 5 days ahead of you. Series X, TV in game mode, zone, strike zone 2 view is what I use.
PS I wish there was a way to adjust the sensitivity of the PCI.
-
I'm finding it easier to hit if I use the Wide Angle Catcher option. The problem with the default hitting angle is that it's a Fish-Eyed Lens, and distorts the view.
The main problem with baseball videogames is that hitting requires binocular vision and there's no depth perception.
Hitting would be easier with VR. HINT. HINT.

MLB 2K13 was 8 years ago. And I've played tons of sims, including High Heat, MVP, Triple Play, Tony LaRussa etc.
The issue has nothing to do with MLB the Show but the entire fact that you have no depth perception. Not a problem when you're pitching, but...
I remember a game (High Heat) that when your player's EYE was high enough, you'd get a dot of where the ball was going at the last moment.

Zone hitting with Strike Zone view. Make sure your TV is in game mode ?
Man, I've tried that EXACT sequence. Zone is the best for me currently but NOTHING is consistent. I've gone through all the camera angles.
Why is it that I have the zone hitting marker directly over the ball location when it comes through the strike zone, swing perfectly (timing) and still miss?!?!?! It's maddening...The main thing he mentioned was make sure TV was in gaming mode. Or if you play on a monitor some monitors have a gaming mode too. I have had my TV go out of game mode before and I tried to play and it is night and day difference.
Also if you havent played the game before you will have to practice some. Arent gonna pick it up and be good in a week.
I've played every baseball game I could get my hands on since RBI Baseball (Nintendo) waaaay back in the 80's, I'm 37. I've NEVER had issues hitting till this game, on any baseball game I have EVER played. The zone hitting is exactly like Ken Griffey Jr. in 1998, which I loved, but it's [censored] near impossible now.
I get the fact I'm old, but I still have perfect eye sight .
Something is up.I will be 44 in a few days. I do pretty well. But I started playing DD back in 2016, after also playing pretty much every baseball video game in my life, and didnt become a decent hitter until about halfway through 2017.
Yeah 44 here too and I’m knocking the cover off the ball Roy! Been playing since ‘17 I think and have gotten better each year. Got a new tv in game mode very little lag. Last year Kontrol Freaks helped me quite a bit.

RTTS your guy will be bad the first half of his first season, even if you square it. Improving vision is important to get better results and widen the margin of error.

I need more than "Hitting has been good".Zone PS5. Gameplay is good so far. Stub issues, servers, and XP amounts are wack. But gameplay is good.
This. It was funny seeing a streamer last night complaining about hitting. See, the problem was he was used to getting cookies served up to him on a platter in 20 . This year you can actually pitch and he can't hit pitches on the corner.
Last year's pitching was the worst I have ever seen in a video game. It is much improved so far this year.

I'm an 'old' XBOX guy and new to The Show. I had the opportunity to be a part of the Tech Test and have been able to play around with game. The hitting is just plain difficult. But that is true of the actual game of baseball. It is said that hitting a 95 mph fastball is the most difficult thing to accomplish in sports. I agree with most here that it just takes practice to improve and while I still don't consider myself good by any means, I have improved. When I get frustrated, I switch to Dynamic Mode for hitting and let the game show me where I am (it will increase or decrease based on your performance). If I get dropped down to Veteran (or sadly sometimes Rookie) I play there for a while to get my confidence back and then level up to take my lumps!
The main thing is that I am entertained and that is (IMO) what a GAME is supposed to do, Entertain!

Something is up.Same here, in the process of refunding. Something is wrong with the Xbox ports. I’m guessing you’re on XOne too? I don’t want to pay 100$ and lose every game on Rookie with Perfect-Perfect swings 70% of the time and perfect PCI placement. Should have skipped on this, first-time releases usually sucks and ports from PS systems even more.
