So I've seen quite a few people confused over this and I just want to share what I think I have figured out about this .
Each of the initial perk you choose for you load out has a primary position, Slick Fielding is the catcher primary. The perks also have secondary positions.
The secondary perks increase and decrease certain attributes, hitting perks usually decrease defense or speed. Equipment increases attributes like any other year
If you want to view your attributes press triangle. If you press square you can view the program which is similar to the first inning program, there are missions to complete in DD or Road to the Show.
This is where im still tad confused but I believe to increase your attributes you have to grind Road to the Show, I've my ballplayer on DD and he hasn't gained any Contact or power or anything like that.
hopefully this helps people if you're a little confused, if I forgot anything please let me know.

Good start.
Grinding Bronze Catcher gave me a Silver CF, SS and 3B. I'm going to try and grind the 3B missions in hopes the Gold archtype pack gives me back a Catcher option. -
Yeah. I just got the gold archetype yesterday. The stats will translate and you’ll see that when setting up your lineup going into a game. Equipment should be added on. I just hope they do something about this bronze staying bronze even after leveling up.

So did the Gold archtype give you a Catcher option or are you still needing to complete it?

I guess you can’t directly choose which position he plays. You’ve got to follow the archetype availability. For example, choosing spark plug and slick will lead you down different paths. Even if both can get you to shortstop, they’ll be two different kinds of shortstops.

It’s weird but I don’t really mind it tbh. I’m more upset about the card itself staying at bronze 65. My team looks worse than it should lol

I would have much rather seen them make last years CAP process more involved, like more missions, exchanges and probably something more like the prestige program where you had to score runs and rbis and extra base hits. This for me is just too complicated, im still going to give it a shot but it seems way too complicated

@YSL_Uchiha23_PSN any update on this? Working towards that Gold archetype now. Having to put my 3B at catcher from time to time for putouts because if not, this will be eternal

I went with slick fielding at bronze so I can make a catcher. Once I got to silver it went to 3rd, SS, and CF. When I got to gold it went to 3rd and SS. I’ve went through each of the slick fielding silvers and I can still not find one for catcher.
