Last two years trout was hot in packs I pulled him both launch nights and one of them it was in the very first pack
Been playing 8 years, I log 1,000 hours a year on average, but I have never, ever pulled Trout in a pack.

While he is right that showdown is more rewarding, id suggest doing conquest until you get familiar with how the game plays, the controls etc.before jumping into something a lot more difficult.
You select the difficulty in conquest and vs cpu and since you wont have a high rated team to start, lower difficulty will be better at first, after each conquest youll get a player card as a reward that can either upgrade your team or sell to maybe buy better players.
Most important thing is to not try and go too fast, just relax and have fun and the rewards and better players will come.go at your own pace.I agree with you there but showdown is also a great place to try out the cards in the game(especially the ones you’re working toward) and imo so much less of a grind than conquest

In A previous post, someone stated that after every conquest you'll get a card, that is simply not true. Conquest will give you points/XP towards a program or card in some cases. In other cases, the map may include a card. You'll have to look at the conquest map and see what rewards you can get, and what objectives you must meet to acquire those rewards.
In General, conquest gives you a lot of packs to open for free. No Money spent people love conquest, as we don't have to buy stubs
That sounds like a great way to start, especially since I'll probably not be very good at the game until I get used to it. When you do conquest, do you play every game? I've seen some that only play the strongholds but in doing that, do you lose out on lots of potential rewards from playing at every opportunity?

Take an hour to learn the gameplay first. You’re screwed if you can’t field, hit, throw or run the bases. Learn to manage multiple runners and turn double plays.

I've always wanted to play MLB The Show and I look forward to finally being able to play it (Diamond Dynasty) tomorrow at midnight! As a brand new player who has never played before, but very used to playing 2k's MyTeam, what are the best things I should do right away?
My goal is to somehow get Tatis Jr. and Bauer on day 1, I don't know if that's possible without buying stubs?
Beyond that, in doing some research, is it accurate that I'd probably get the most bang for the buck on day 1 doing TA, Showdown, Conquest, and maybe a little market trading?
I'd love to hear your thoughts, there are so many things to do that it's very confusing about what to do first and I don't want to waste time or make mistakes right out of the gate.
mate if you enjoy playing against people online, then go to Ranked Seasons - it is a blast if you enjoy a good game against a non CPU

I might go straight for showdown. Get the nice reward and then move on to conquest. I should have175K stubs to start...it's just spending them wisely I'm assuming. This is only my second year on the game. I lashed out at 20 to the point of major toxicity until I realized I just sucked at hitting and will live with my results without any further whining. I expect a great game over all and it seems they have created more avenues to obtain big rewards which is awesome. Just take it one day at a time a check the forums frequently for hints and tips.
