Please refer to this link. 69 total check swings at an 86% ball rate. There is no question this was broken and I’m super excited that they’ve fixed it.

That's just plain and simple pathetic. I had an opponent that was probably on that pace the other day before he quit. 1/2 of their swings were checks.

The craziest part is most of the ones called for strikes were the ones he checked in the strike zone.

Crazy part is how was this not patched?

And the scary part is how many strikeout will it take from their “data” for them to revert back to it?? Sadly I think that is a possibility because ppl are going to be striking out A LOT. I’ve seen guys strike out 10 times but should have struck out 25 times...

Ppl work 0-2 counts to 3-2 with 3 straight check swings of pitches they had no clue as to where they were going — and they do it with every hitter

Waiting for people to come here and say that hitter was skilled enough to layoff 69 pitches

If they want to reduce the checks and the foul tips, they should also do away with the golfing of curveballs 2 inches above the dirt for homeruns, or the pitches above the shoulder tomahawked for a dinger or the pitch in the opposing batter's box that are hit over the fence.

Basically, the further away from the strike zone, the lesser the efficiency of the swing.

But most of the issues, including checkswings, are from too many 99 overall players. The first month is usually the best in terms of gameplay because players have a range of attributes, and facing a 94 diamond will make you sweat. That's why MLB 19 was a lineout fest, after starting out the year with the best type of hits variety ever; the H/9 and elite fielders eventually started cancelling out the rockets from 100+ power hitters.

Eh. You make a respectable point but people do the check swing nonsense in BR with silvers and bronzes.

I do agree however the homerun golfs of a ball way below the zone that the hitter didn’t read well at all is silly. Thing is about stopping certain hitting frequencies is I don’t know what it does to the over all hitting when you nerf it. Can they really just stop those kind of hits? If they can lower the hit frequency for balls out of the zone that makes sense. Can it be done?

Checkswinging is a human right. I will fill a complaint to the UN human rights commission regarding SDS nerfing it for the upcoming game.

    Breaking Ball Home-runs
Home-runs on breaking balls before they touch the dirt happen a ton in real baseball. Pitches can be smoked that are not in the strike-zone, it happens all the time its just not a good habit to get into unless you are protecting 0-2 1-2 behind in the count as a hitter , usually if someone hit a home-run on a breaking ball its zone 8 (down the middle low which will also make the bat path if they time it correct come up under the strike zone catching the ball out in front before it hits the dirt) they have analog in direction or with zone analog they can put the swing path below the zone even more . It's usually from a player trying to throw a non competitive breaking ball right blow the zone but still trying to make it look like a strike , you have to throw that curve with as much effort as your setup pitch so that curveball will cause the hard break downward action!....T he risk is the catcher might not block it correctly just like in real life , Good TIP: Throw sliders change chase pitches to fast hitters , curve-balls to slow hitters so if the catcher misses you can usually still throw the runner out. Check Swing - I did like the check swing ratio in the tech test , it seemed very realistic to real life.

HOF OR Higher Difficulty - Stops 99% of most players who swing at everything and make contact , you have to have real to life timing and placement otherwise its either foul or missed. All-star is acceptable for casual fun but still will hit lots of chase pitches with bad timing.
