Why did SDS make showdown

I kind of understand the concept but moments are far superior because they’re free. You have to spend stubs to enter something that u might not even make out of the first round of it. And I love their whole marketing of “if you’re good you can skip to the end” when you have to score 15 runs with a diamond and a gold card pretty much. The whole game mode is kind of flawed in my opinion too because the perks aren’t really helpful. I wish they’d go back to moments because they’re far superior

I'm not really sure who they made it for to be honest. It's just more moments strung together. If you hate moments then you wont want to play it, if you like moments they already exist.
-
I absolutely love it, it's genuinely tense and super rewarding
-
Yeah I don't really like this trend in sports games where they come up with a new mode that nobody asked for and ignore strong improvements that people have been asking for FOREVER! Case in point: FIFA creating Volta instead of substantial career mode improvements.
I haven't really jumped into Showdown because I'm grinding Conquest but I'm wary about what I'm hearing.

I waiting for s Stolen Base Showdown where EVERYTIME you get on base, there's either a runner on the next base or they throw a 3-2 fast count at you.

Why does everyone bring up stubs with showdown? You easily make your stubs back and then some

Because we should not have to earn them back. We earned them once already (or purchased them).

Does it make sense to earn stubs doing something in the game and then give them back so that you can earn them again? Not to mention the possibility that you will not earn them back. It is BS.

Ok, but that argument really doesn't hold up. I can say that for Battle Royale, which is partly what Showdown is based off of.

idk. To me spending 1000 stubs and making 1500 back is just getting 500 stubs for playing

Then why not make it 0 stub to join and make 500 for playing? Because they know some people will lose their 1000 stubs.

The only similarities between BR and Showdown is that they both cost stubs to play.

Showdown is great. It’s intense, tons of fun, and relatively quick to play (or at least it can be). As for the cost, in the divisional ones, you earn way over your stubs back just beating the first win or go home mission (which is so easy in the al central, 3 runs on veteran within 15 outs) when you get 700 stubs and a show pack (1500 stub value).

The "only"? So you don't pick players BR style with 4 choices per round?
-
I like the mode. It's quick, not a lot of people have time to play and grind for the best cards.
