In prior versions, all I had to do was push "up" and "right" on the right stick to slide to avoid a tag. In 2020, according to the "Controls", you now have to use the "L1" button. However, every time I try it, my RTTS player tries to stop and head back to the previous base. Anyone else struggling with this? They didn't need to change this...

I'm having the same issue. Why can't they leave things alone that work? Just moving the right stick was perfect.

I like to steal... a lot. I keep getting thrown out, so my manager benched me. I agree... they should have left this alone.

Hopefully this gets fixed because without it being fixed you have control over sliding.

choosing the direction of slide works in DD, but doesn't in player lock moments.

I switched to using the "L" joystick for running. I can now do my "hook slide". However, I keep running into outs because my "muscle memory" is all screwed up...

I play on ‘Classic’ controls for base running, you physically cannot choose to slide in RTTS. Beyond frustrating. It made RTTS unplayable, I got thrown out on two plays I should have been able to slide into. We lost the game because of it. Fun stuff.

I have no issues sliding, I’ve been playing this game for the last 6 years or so and I personally like the L1 plus direction for sliding... however I wish you could turn off the sliding assist ...

When you are in analog baserunning in rtts and player lock holding L1 allows to you to choose slide, lloks very wonky and even though you are sliding to home side of third still looks like you run toward OF side and hand hits middle and then slides across

Yeah the issue is with classic base running. L1 + right stick doesn't work.

Hey there - what are your settings to be able to do this? Analog?

Hey .. I use classic settings... make sure you’re using L1 and the right analog stick ... if you hit the left stick he will go back to the previous base... I’ve accidentally done this a few times because of having to use broadcast view while the ball was in play ...
