Swinging through pitchers with good timing

I'm confused with how much this happens with pitches in the zone. I could see if it was occasionally and I understand when it's pitches out of my reach. But often I seem right on a ball and miss despite good timing.
I don't recall equipping a swiss cheese bat skin so not sure what's happening.
For the record, I use pure analog hitting, not pci. -
Welcome to not using the PCI, you are at the mercy of RNG, good timing doesn't' guarantee hitting the ball
