Fielding seems especially bad today
-
Maybe it’s just my bad luck, but fielding has seemed really bad over the past month. Just today, I’ve lost back to back games today where I had at least three run lead then had
First baseman getting pulled off the bag
Home run
Fielder not locking on to ball, run scores
Home run
Easy grounder suddenly hitting third base bag, run scores
Home run
Outfielder not catching ball at wall, run scores
Was something changed to where fielding has taken such an incredible step back since October, or is it just a string of really bad luck on my part. Between that and having so many balls on the black being called a ball, enough to tear my hair out. I’ve been knocked down to all star hell and can’t get out. I do hope when 21 comes out, they’ll have worked on pitching and fielding, instead of concentrating on hitting and leaving the rest alone like it seems they did this year.

I think, like myself, you are probably looking for a baseball explanation for why things happen in the game like they do.
I have come to this realization a number of times during the year but keep coming back to the game because the idea of it is SO good.
Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a baseball explanation for the inconsistencies in the gameplay. We have been duped.

I constantly ask myself why I can’t just stop complaining so much and either accept the game for what it is. or stop playing and wait til next year. I think you hit the nail right on the head with what you said above. I love baseball, and I like the idea of this game, it’s
Just every time I go back to it, it doesn’t perform like I expect it to. It does not perform up to the high standards of gameplay this series has set over the last few years. So I will continue to play it and continue to be disappointed, anxiously awaiting for next years edition to free me from The Show 20. -
It’s true. My kid and I used to dream up lineups of great players in our heads just for fun. If you’d told me that I could collect those player cards in a game, assemble my lineup, and then actually play against an opponent with my team, I’d have been SO stoked.
But as you said, the gameplay seems to always disappoint.

I initially saw this and it didn’t resonate, but I played about 5 event games tonight and had multiple freaky errors and 1st and 3rd that were nowhere near the norm.....

I had Tatis boot 2 balls in ranked tonight and JRam got caught on an in between hop...which I didn’t think existed in the game.
