Shippett broke The Show this year

I don’t have a huge problem with early home runs, as long as they are away. Those pitches get hooked out all the time IRL. But as with many arguments about this game, do you want it to mimic real life, or serve as a fair and competitive video game. Both is not a realistic option

Casuals have hated shippett for years and top players have played there for years this isn’t a new thing this year lol.
I’ve been playing this game for years. Never made ws but can consistently make cs so I wouldn’t consider myself to be a causal. While “top” players having been playing here for years, it hasn’t led to the type of problems as playing at this stadium has this year.
You can argue that, but I’ve seen a lot of players complaining about shippett since 18. There has been a gradual increase in home hunting throughout the years as people become more aware that it’s possible. I don’t home hunt myself, I find it quite annoying.
The pitching has been atrocious since 18, so that’s not really any different. I personally have not noticed a change in pitching since 18. 18, 19, and 20 have all been ridiculous with early home runs as well, so I’m really not seeing what makes shippett worse this year. Aside from possibly more people playing there.
If anything, shippett is more balanced this year than prior years such as 18 bc 18 had wind, which was very broken if blowing out. 19 had a lot more lineouts, which imo made people believe that the pitching was better.
I think the perfect/perfect system introduced this year amplified an already extremely friendly offensive environment. Shippett was always an offense first ballpark, but until this year the outcomes seemed “reasonable.” Now every game there has double digit scores for each team with combined home run totals at least 5x the major league average

Perfect/perfect is hands down the best addition to the game this year imo
Very true, but when SDS implemented it, they should have adjusted a few stadiums to account for the change and balance things out a little.

Nah...they need to just stop touching [censored] without telling us. I wouldn't toss the word nerf around too freely, just means more RNG. "Nerf" with what variables exactly? Adjusting sliders for when we load into Shippett? No fcking thanks, I'm tired of playing a game that constantly feels fcked with. I don't think the stadium nerfing is a viable solution. Shippett isn't the problem.

Ok, not “nerf.” They should’ve adjusted some stadiums to balance out game play. Move fences back or something. Why does a stadium at that elevation in that climate have a center field fence less than 400 feet away?

Blame pitching. Shipped has been around for a long time, never been an issue. Its the pitching.
Pitching/umpiring is definitely a huge problem.
But Shippett? Geezus. Especially on AS.
I JUST finished a game there. On AS. Tight game, nothing special. I think I was up 4-3 after six innings.
My opponent scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 7th.
Then I scored 7 in the top of the 8th.
Then in the bottom of the 9th, he hit back-to-back homeruns to walk it off and win 12-11.
And the funny thing was, we both knew it would happen.
And that game just cemented it for me: I will NEVER play another road game.
It’s not that I don’t want to play on the road, but it’s the only way I can guarantee not playing at Shippett every game. I DO NOT enjoy slugfests.
Shippett on AS is tee-ball with grown men swinging the bats. It’s not enjoyable.
It’s just stupid.

If they introduce new stadiums with neutral climate and end up replacing shippett like you suggested, I wouldn't mind that at all. I'm just not a fan of them touching anything we can't quantify ourselves, they aren't transparent at all about many things.

Understood. And I edited my last pair to better reflect what I meant. “Nerfing” does have certain connotations to it.

Here's a way to "nerf" shippett. Just lower the elavation. that is all they need to do

Shippet has always been OP and MLB stadiums have always been frowned upon when playing online. Considering how many people play at shippet I doubt we’ll see any of the minor league stadiums change any time soon if at all.

I think the fact that so many people play at Shippett versus all the other stadiums shows that a change needs to be made.

Or a change needs to be made to the game and other stadiums. The hitting in game is very inconsistent with exit velos. Shippett maximizes the chances of a good/okay center pci hit to go out, which is what skilled hitters want. It’s unbelievably frustrating flying out on perfect pci placement. Why is shippett the only minor league field with a great batter’s eye? Why not make other minor league fields more appealing by giving them better batters eyes?

You said “maximizes” which is the key word. Shippett at its elevation, short fences and warm climate maxes out the hitting to an unrealistic level. It’s not the batters eye.

As long as it’s as easy as it is to place the pci and time up pitches, the hitting is gonna be unrealistic

I thought everybody knows Shippett is a launching pad.
I notice a significant increase in homeruns for both myself and my opponents versus any other stadium or park that I play at. This seems to be consistent enough for myself to believe that it's not pure coincidence.
-
Would you guys rather every well-hit ball be a home run, BUT many balls that should be fly outs are home runs as well? Or not every well-hit ball leaves the yard, but there are no cheap/undeserved home runs? Because that is the quandary of Shippett in my estimation.

I don’t know. If I was a top player with the ability to square up pitches consistently (like some people I know), I think I might want to play at big parks that aren’t forgiving. Let the more consistent player win rather than one who gets the most pop ups to carry out for dingers.

I don’t think you would. Because as a top player (not saying I am one) you’re obv going to square way more pitches up than most of your opponents. At shippett, most of these get rewarded so you can pretty much outhit everyone else, except for other top players. There generally are only 1-2 actual fluke home runs at shippett, if that. At other stadiums, particularly mlb stadiums or parks with big dimensions, it can be hard at times to scratch across a few runs due to lag or difficulty seeing the ball, so bloopers and bad animations can have a much bigger impact on the game.
