Some observations from my last three games

So my last three games have been... interesting. My opponent and I have very similar hit totals (my 34 to their 36), but here's the breakdown:
Game 1: 13 to 13 (hits) but 6 to 2 (HRs)
Game 2: 14 to 14 (hits) but 7 to 1 (HRs)
Game 3: 9 to 7 (hits) but 4 to 2 (HRs)So over the last 3 games, my opponent has outhit me 36 to 34 but has hit 17 HRs compared to my 5. What do you do!? The obvious answer is to "put better swings on the ball" but that's meaningless in this game. We've all had perfect fly balls for outs and we've all had early swings with the PCI barely on the ball for a HR. So if the type of swing can be rendered meaningless by an arbitrary hitting engine, what do you do? Are we literally just playing a game that essentially comes down to coinflip? We just swing the bat and see what the arbitrary hitting engine give us? And if you're in a streak like I'm in you do you literally just chalk it up to bad luck because the coins just not flipping your way?
And if that's the case, what's the point in even playing?

If your opponents are consistently out-homering you, they probably are taking better swings. There is absolutely times your opponent get a bunch of fluke home runs, but the way you spell it out, it happens to you all the time.
So either the game hates you, all your opponents are goons who can consistently hit home runs, or your hits just aren't as solid as your opponents so they aren't going out of the park.
Again, I can see coming in and complaining about one or two games where your opponent hits a couple fluke solo shots, but this keeps happening to you, all your opponents are outhomering you. That tells me you aren't taking as good swings as them, even if the hits are relatively close.
Just because your hits are near the same means almost nothing, not all hits are created equal.
Yes, there are times that perfect flyballs aren't home runs and that is BS, BUT, the answer is to keep hitting perfect flyballs, BECAUSE most leave, your going to hit way more home runs if you keep hitting perfect flyballs.
Consistency does mean more home runs, even if you get screwed sometimes, the rate of home runs WILL be higher if you put good swings on it
You are taking it to the extreme and essentially invalidating any legitimate argument you had

So essentially your argument is just put your head down and keep trying because eventually the roll of the dice will go your way?
While I can appreciate that way of thinking, the fact that we're talking about the same approach as gambling addicts on a bad run I think is an indictment on how this game plays lol

There isn't some third magical option that fixes those issues

I get it. I'm not making fun of thinking that way or even saying it's wrong. I just think it's ridiculous that it's our only two options and, as a community, we can't get on the same page and at least ask for something a little better.

I get it. I'm not making fun of thinking that way or even saying it's wrong. I just think it's ridiculous that it's our only two options and, as a community, we can't get on the same page and at least ask for something a little better.
I'm content with how the game plays for the most part, now let me clarify that statement though
I don't expect any huge changes for 21, with them porting over to Xbox and such (Atleast that's the assumption, we haven't heard anything in awhile on that front). So realistically, I don't expect most of the issues to be fully fixed
I'll take a perfect/perfect pitching input and tweaks to check swings and that would make 21 fine in my book
Now 22 is where I draw a line, that's where i want to see a new game, new engine.
Sure I'd love for them to come out swinging in 21 with a massively improved game, but expecting that is setting myself up for disappointment, I'll give them another year and reevaluate then.

Offense seems to be too overpowered in general. Those are an obscene amount of hits and home runs for a three game series.

I looked at your last game. Only three strikeouts. You definitely were unlucky. Also you have a history of being really good at this game. I'd chalk it up to fluke and keep doing what you're doing

I read coin flip...but I think you mean "outcome slot machine" or "spin and I mean swing and win" ??
