Not even close. That said, most of the cards were usable in your lineup. These ones so far, do not

I agree - I was looking at the releases of the 2020 cards and was... "meh". Then I saw Soto and the hairs stood up on the back of my neck.

I disagree on most of the finest cards last year being “usable”. The ones that come to mind are Yelich, Bellinger, Marte, Lindor, Cole, and Hader, Bregman, Scherzer, but the other 35 of them weren’t used for anything but a fun lineup. Also there were alot less options at every position last year making the finest cards seem more usable than they actually were

Yeah that Bauer will definitely play. 10+ MPH difference between 4SFB and cutter!

You just named 8 players, that’s almost a full team. Thus far, I’ve seen 2 (maybe 3) that could play on anyone’s lineup. I guess there’s still reveals coming but I’m not overly impressed so far

Like I said, there were alot less options last year. At 2B the most used cards last year were Alomar and Hornsby. Thus why Keyel Marte seemed awesome. Because going by attributes the only difference between him and Candelario is what positions they play. This year we have a plethora of options at 2B. SS was an extremely thin position last year. Honus and Lindor were the end game guys. It’s fine if these seem disappointing to you, but it only seems that way because the topps now/POTM and Postseason were too juiced. These are pretty much in line with last years finest cards otherwise.

Last year the best ones were Bellinger, Bregman, Arenado, and deGrom. A lot of people liked the Lindor card too.

So... did any cards from last year approach the "beast" 2020 Soto card?

Honestly Belli, Yelli, and Cole were beasts.

Topps Now and 2020 Post Season cards ruined the chances for the Finest Series this year.

Don't get me wrong; I like how they did the TN Program this year, compared to prior years, but there are WAY to many high end cards this year.

I would like to see them go back to the old rating system where 90+ are Diamonds, not 85 and up.

Also, I'd rather see 'special' cards like TN, end of year PS, FS, and Prospect cards stay in the Silver/Gold range.

Plus the only 99s I'd like to see would be reserved to the big names like Griffey, Mays, Chipper, etc.

I agree, an 99 PS Broussard with 125 125 was the straw for me....
