First year playing online or DD, but played The Show since debut version. When i started online this year I was getting killed trying to hit at every level, free swinging , total nightmare. Have worked hard and have gotten as high as 890 in RS, ( I am realistically a high 700s player) but here are the area I could use advice.

    1. I get spammed with the high inside heat and strike out way too much with Trout, Tatis, etc. on these pitches. Even when I try to protect it I seem to drop the PCI right before contact and pop up.

    2. always early in the change up.

If I can cut my strike outs down, I can hit WS as I can hold most guys to a couple runs and most often out hit my opponent, They just sent to out homer me which is the difference.

I have a monitor and several versions of KontrolFreeks.

    Any help is appreciated.

That high inside cheese can be rough if you're late due to latency. The timing window also seems to be worthless.

When you're against a fireballer, I'd suggest using the "clicks" method to time pitches. Do a youtube search on it and practice it on legend. I do this and it's still hard to catch up at times...

Nothing we can tell you will help you at this point. It’s all about repetition. Focus on the delivery point and try to spot it early as it leaves the pitchers hand. Other than cheating but putting the PCI up there, that’s pretty much all you can do.

Yeah, if someone is really spamming any pitch, set your PCI to "win" and just time it.

Thanks guys. Any tips to avoid that high K rate with Trout and Tatis? My average in [censored] in play as crazy high, but I have to cut down on the punch outs with those guys.

What you could do is go into the settings and then adjust sliders. Set the fastball and offspeed pitch speeds all the way up and save them under "practice sliders". Make sure you load them and then go into custom practice. Face a team with a flamethrower, like Aroldis Chapman or Nolan Ryan (he's on one of the classic teams). Then, while having the pitch speeds all the way, set the hitting difficulty to legend and try to hit the ball for 15-20 minutes before you start playing RS.

This will be incredibly tough and don't get discouraged if you're not making solid contact. The idea is that you manipulate your eyes and mind in seeing all those extremely fast pitches, so that whenever you go play RS the pitch speeds look somewhat slower than they normally would.

Thanks for this tip. I wasn’t sure how to load that into the practice settings so this is helpful

You can create custom rosters before going into custom practice. Build a team of pitchers that you are likely to face and may have trouble with. Then build a roster of players that you use or want to try out. Save these and load before going into custom practice. I used the Orioles and Red Sox. Loaded all the tough pitchers on the orioles and set my lineup with the Red Sox. Now you can see tons of pitches from kluber or Orel or whoever people are using a lot and get used to release points etc. also gives you the chance to try out a swing before picking up a player.

I feel like you and I are in the same boat. I’ve played this game since the beginning, but this is my first year playing DD as well. I also feel my high strikeout rate on HOF is what has kept me from getting to WS. This season coming up all my energy is going to
Be focused on making it. I like some of the tips you got here and plan to implement the custom practice before I fire up an RS game.

If I’m still struggling I’ll go and get a monitor as I’ve been playing on a 50” TV this whole time. Maybe that could be the final piece. Keep us updated how you do this season and I’ll do the same.
